HIT-PARADE: all №1 (september 2020)

This is a conceptual piece of music created to be a short science fiction film. 

The track is a journey through different dimensions of space and time and is broken into three movements. 

The first movement introduces the main characters and establishes the stories atmosphere and motivation. 
The second movement is a sound design piece I created to represent traveling though space and time. 
The third movement is our arrival and represents the emotional part of the story.

George puts his heart into the vocals of this love ballad. The lyrics present the importance having a legacy of love being more important than one of fame and fortune. I am using fewer tracks than usual with minimal drum use. Piano and string are in a simple support role with an emphasis on the bass track. The chord sequence is led by George's acoustic guitar. Rough piece on the mandolin for this afternoon. You can even hear some sloppy fingering - proof that it's not generated by a computer (although...).
In French, "arbre à palabres" refers to the tree under which people gather to discuss, debate or listen to the village sage. It's a tradition usually associated with some African cultures but you've probably seen it somewhere else - people talking under the shade of a tree.
