Phil is a Music Producer, Songwriter, Engineer, Programmer and Mixer.

In a career spanning over 30 years he has enjoyed success with many genres of music and a wide variety of artists. He owns CrazyJoeCola Music Productions and runs his own production/mixing studio.

He is currently writing and producing songs for the new Bob The Builder TV series now broadcast on Channel 5 Milkshake UK TV, PBS TV in the USA, and many countries worldwide. He has also written and produced songs for the upcoming Bob The Builder feature film.

In November 2011 he mixed the single "Wherever You Are" by The Military Wives Choir with Gareth Malone (Decca) which was the UK Christmas No 1 with over 700.000 sales! The single also won the Classical BRIT Award for Best British Single 2012! Phil also mixed the Military Wives albums "In My Dreams" which reached No 1 in the UK album chart and "Stronger Together" which reached No 5. 

In recent years Phil produced and engineered tracks for The Yeah You's who signed to Island Records and Sony Publishing. They had heavy play on Radio 1 and Radio 2 with their singles "15 Minutes" (which Phil co-wrote) and "Getting Up With You" and the album "Looking Through You" received great reviews including 4 stars from Mojo Magazine and Radio 2 Album Of The Week. "15 Minutes" has also been used on American Idol and synced on the US hit movie "Easy A".

Phil has engineered and mixed tracks for Ronan Keating, Katherine Jenkins, Faryl Smith (Decca) Alison Moyet’s album "The Turn" (Universal), The Fron Choir (1 Million UK sales - Decca), The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards who won the Classical Brit award for best album 2009 (500, 000 UK sales - Decca), Imelda May, The RAF Squadronaires (No.5 in the official UK album chart). Over the past 10 years he has mixed numerous albums for Decca Records with total sales of over 4 million.

He has previously produced and mixed tracks for Darius, Vanessa Mae, Bond, Opera Babes, Jaki Graham, Sinead Quinn, Take That, Rubylux, Jay James Picton, J Marie Cooper, Katherine Jenkins, Ronan Keating amongst many others.

Phil has a lot of exciting projects lined up for 2017 including writing/productions with Robin Goodfellow and Nick Ingram under the name Laughing Boy.

‘House of Love 2016’ - Laughing Boy featuring Tony Mortimer
Laughing Boy - the production team who bought you the Jessie J collaboration ‘Love Like Sunshine’ which peaked at number 4 in the UK dance chart - introduce their latest track ‘House of Love 2016’ featuring former East 17 frontman Tony Mortimer. 
For the first time in nearly 20 years the two original writers - Mortimer and Robin Goodfellow (who is part of the Laughing Boy outfit and produced the original version of ‘HOL’ in the 90’s) have come together to give this classic song a fresh twist bringing it bang up to date. Mortimer has taken time out of his busy schedule to collaborate on the song which certainly resonates more today than ever before.

Laughing Boy are the writing/production team of Phil Da Costa, Nick Ingram and Robin Goodfellow. The group also features various guest vocalists and rappers.  Their first release was "Love Like Sunshine" which includes parts of Jessie J's "Domino".  The boys sought permission from Jessie and her co-writers (which they gladly granted) and the mashup of the two songs became a club hit, reaching the heady heights of No 4 in the official Music Week Commercial Pop Club Chart.  Guest vocalist Rosalee O'Connell brilliantly took on the Jessie J parts.

"I Am The Radio" was then released as a promo video on YouTube and features London rapper Kenkodie aka 'The Dope Boy'.  The song deals with the touchy subject of media control and the video has an amazing storyline of a girl who witnesses and videos a murder on her phone which she uploads to social media with dramatic results.  A short film is also to be released which expands on the storyline and has 'I Am The Radio' as it's soundtrack.

Laughing Boy are continuing to write and now have an album's worth of amazing new songs which range from dark and moody to dance floor bangers!
