Here's the third volume of my Verano Mix series. I've been pulling songs together for it for the last couple of months, and I'm quite happy with what came together. Its an hour to tell the story of a summer day, sunrise to sunset. If everything is right, this should be an escape, a pathway to losing your problems for a day. When we started throwing our Dancing On The Charles parties next to Boston’s most famous river back in 2008 we had no idea it would become the inspiration for a now annual music compilation showcasing the immense talent of Boston's electronic music producers. In fact we had no idea we’d ever even have our own record label! Yet, here we are in 2014 proudly presenting the second edition of DOTC. A collection of music embodying the spirit and persistence that once fueled those epic riverside summertime parties and continues to guide the Boston dance music scene.

Dancing On The Charles Volume 2 picks up where Volume 1 left off and features an even more diverse range of music. An overall deep feeling is this years’ theme as we dive into a 13 track selection from repeat contributors and new Soul Clap Records recruits. Returning to the comp is quickly rising deep house talent Caserta, our favorite afro-funk producer of 2013, Bosq (who has teamed up with us, Soul Clap), Bon Jonson (this time appearing as Nightriders AND Peyote Purple), Tate Masimore aka Chas Bronz (who presents his new project The Sheffield Boys with young guns Smeed & Suspence), and of course the smoothest of the smooth Roldy Cezaire. New artists include: Boston tech-house staple Tamer Malki, former Phoenix Landing resident D-Lu (this will be her very first release!), disco-connector Serge Gamesbourg and all around disco dude Brenden Wesley, Tuck Diggz (working alongside Mystery Roar) and new Boston transplant James Cook who we've been following since his college days and are finally getting out on our label!

Stanislav Lukoyanov, aka 5 Reasons, is a 16 year old Russian producer from Moscow. He first made hip hop instrumentals for independent artists before turning towards nu-disco in 2012. In his search for a new inspiration, he looked into his father's record collection and started composing his own disco tunes. 
After releasing several tracks on various labels, he is now presenting his latest production "Night Drive In Moscow". This time, 5 Reasons created a very unique atmosphere by mixing mysterious vibes with a real disco feel. 
The vocals by the talented American singer Patrick Baker add the final touch to this remarkable piece. 
The release also includes two remixes: one by the very promising Mexican producer Bronx, and the other by a major artist of the nu-disco scene, Satin Jackets.
