Myself and soundcloud artist Sonskrif wrote the Kevin G Davy lp.. 81 Miles via Hulme, which came out in early 2023 (released through Jump Recordings) on that i use my old name Rex.
LP title refers to the distance beween St Annes in Nottingham
(where me and Kevin both hail from) and Hulme in Manchester.
This is a revisit to "Carlton" off the LP, a continuation of that project. Kevin continues to play with Cymande, and various other projects.

Ever wonder what it’s like to live a life setting up wobbling Ferris wheels and tightening the screws on “games of skill”? That’s Carney. It’s the daily grind of hauling rides under the hot sun, tearing them down in the dark, and making sure every kid leaves empty-handed but somehow still smiling. This beat’s got the smell of funnel cake and old popcorn, the echo of rigged rings clanging off empty bottles, and a little side-eye at the whole operation. It’s life on the fairgrounds, and yeah, it’s rigged—just like everything else.

I’m on this grind 24/7 people, come along for the journey. My page just showcases my development as I practice beat making every day. I just post the results up on here as soon as I finish a new one. 

This page mostly acts as a personal record of all the sampled music I’ve made over the last 15 years, since I got deep into my MPC's and started teaching myself. I just make what I feel and try to translate what’s in my head so people can hear it. I was exclusively using Koala Sampler for iPad since September 2023 but as of June 2025, I now own an MPC X Special Edition so all new beats from now on will be made with that like the old days! Please bear with me as I try to master a new tool! This also means my 2 year iPad and Koala Sampler phase has come to an end 😢 I hope you enjoyed the 1400 beats I made with it!

Having synesthesia, I see the colours, shapes, textures and movements of the sounds in my mind whenever I hear sound/music, plus scenes in my head. I try and use samples to paint and capture what I feel or want to say. I’m all about the feel.
