Since contributing to the CockTail d’Amore 5 years Compilation, Andrew Cole aka Luv*Jam has been invited few times to rock the monthly party with his deeply blissful and futuristic sounds. This is his first 12” for the Berlin imprint.
The title track takes over the A side. Nip To Space is an abstract hypnotic slice of techno. Every frequency of the 4/4 groove is stretched to the max, and it’s built to enhance the dance floor with masterful soundscaping. On the flip Forest of Nip is a raw tune, made by unexpected elements disappearing and re-appearing vibrantly, climaxing in a maze of fluffy acid synths. 
With Flip To The Flop the alchemist of sound design explores breakbeat of the finest UK tradition that evolves unexpectedly in a cosmically distorted afterhours delight. LUV*JAM’s psychedelic perspective of sound is at its best in this EP, coupled with his unique mastery of frequency manipulation.

Cuthead ‎– Big Time EP (Rat 12)

Sharif Laffrey can charm the snake out of any basket. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. Side A’s 'Tangier' is a long drawn-out exercise, an endurance test of the highest order. Over the span of some thirteen minutes, elements bob and weave intermittently and layers overlap haphazardly—the type of exciting dynamic that's born out of restriction—as if putting down a live jam without enough hands to work the console, yet Sharif perseveres. As touch and go as this arrangement may be, there is something that undoubtedly glues it all in place; the combination of his massive rolling 16th-note baseline and his tough-as-nails drumkit is so good that, upon first listen, we spat out our tea and insisted on its release. On side B, 'Everything Is Nice' carries on with loose arrangement, dirty production and layers of inexplicable spoken-word samples (a Sharif calling card by now) but this time we're lead to a melancholy place, the blue comedown to Side A's antagonistic trial. With his ESP Institute debut, Sharif leaves you mentally unhinged, as if you’ve smoked something interesting and arrived bewildered in some Saharan labyrinth. These two songs will guide you through the medina to score the black meat.

Golden sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see, each grain shimmering under the sun's gaze. The air was hot and sticky, it felt like no place for life to thrive, or even exist. In the distance something broke through the hot air, disturbing the desert's peaceful surroundings. A long procession of figures rode across the expanse on horse back, the muted pitter patter of hooves resounding in perfect unison. The figures were clad in beautiful white garments and sparkling jewels, each exuding a prodigious air of regality. They proudly watched over the land, it was their home and only they knew it's secrets. 

Parisian native D.K. returns to his regular home Antinote for the second in a trilogy of three releases over the next few months. Riding For A Fall shows off D.K.'s signature style, tropical bumping rhythms, this time directed at the dance floor.

Such place eternal justice has prepared for those rebellious; as far removed from the rave and light of a sunrise set as from the centre thrice to th' utmost pole.  Oh Side B, how unlike the place from whence they danced! There the companions of the artist’s departure, o'erwhelmed with floods and whirlwinds of tempestuous fire, he soon discerns; and, weltering by his side, one next himself in power and next in crime, long after known at the ESP Institute, and named Koehler. If he whom mutual league, united thoughts and counsels, equal hope and hazard in the glorious enterprise joined with me once, now misery hath joined in equal ruin; into what pit thou seest from what height fallen: so much the stronger proved he with his thunder; and till then who knew the force of those dire arms. Farewell, happy fields, where joy for ever dwells! Hail, 'The Grand Illusion', receive thy new possessor — one who brings a mind not to be changed by place or time. These two songs will sit you dove-like brooding on the vast abyss.
