Deepnotic Session #4 | 𝘚 𝘮 𝘢 𝘯 𝘴 𝘬 𝘺 | 03.05.2022

We were very excited to host Exist Palestine, who hold their first-ever Berlin event at Oona Bar, Weserstr. 166 on Saturday, August 20th.

Exist is a festival and event series founded in Palestine, with the aim of building bridges between artists, musicians, DJs and curators from Palestine and across the globe. Its broad, transnational family are united in a desire to use art to impact their environments in critical ways, and through their engagement with anti-colonialism in the context of Palestine and beyond.

Exist Festival’s event at Refuge Worldwide will include DJ sets by Exist extended family members Ciarra Black, Dirar Kalash, Falyakon, Kujo, Oldyungmayn, Sainte Marina, No Plastic and the festival's co-founders Odai Masri and Bint Mbareh. 

There will also be two installations on-site at Oona: an audiovisual installation by Sarah Risheq titled if_the_archive_could_speak, exploring Palestinian physical and mental archives; and a sound piece by Dirar Kalash called To Exist In Sound, which draws from audio recordings of the 1948 Nakba and 1967 Naksa.

The next episode in our archive is a special one: Berlin duo @crouds are serving one hour of fast paced state of the art industrial techno. With both Andi and Johann being ardent gearheads, the set is a recording from a live performance at Mensch Meier back in April. Watch out for their second Molten Moods EP "Switchblade" to be released in December!
