and there’s a beauty in our trials, but that’s not to be desired
unless it’s in the name of the one who inspires all the things that we require
light the pyre with cleansing fire let that old man die

I believe that what don’t kill me, the Lord rebuilds me
Period. 

the flow filthy as my inner soul filled me 
I could sense that my sinner’s grip on it unyielding
all my old ways, had me on my knees for like whole days
tossed into the vanity of succeeding on a planet where there’s no fate

then that gold praise turned on me into a cold grave
dirty as a meth mouth’s molar needed colgate
I ain’t sayin’ everything is so great since I got my soul saved
no way I been gettin’ pummeled but it’s nothin’ on Job’s case

no wait.. before I paint the wrong impression
God forgive me if I give ‘em that vain perception
That once you’ve been saved then Satan stops collectin’

f’you have peace now then it had to be a problem
and the Lord draws nearest to the sheep facing trauma 

so everyday I face in the light of His amazing grace
