Back in 1994, a video game entitled "Alfred Chicken" was released in America for the NES, Super Nintendo, and Gameboy. To promote the game, Mindscape took out ads in the popular video game magazines (EGM, Gamepro, etc) and towards the bottom of the ad, text read "For an Alfred message, call 1-800-ALFREDC".. well, as a curious 13 year-old, I did, and here's one of the messages kids would hear when they'd call (the messages changed weekly, this is the only one I recorded)

Alfred Chicken (Nintendo Phone Message 1994)

Pure output from console (running binary in emulator for this test).  No external mixing.  Just thought I'd post a test output of where I'm at in creating tunes for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive.  This is created for the NTSC model which I find is better for syncopated swung tempos.  Lots of learning for me on this track!  Trying to get sounds at the right volumes  / mixing(because the sounds completely change when you turn them up or down) has been insane.

My entry for Famicompo Pico 3!! It got 11th place out of 85 entries in the original category. Given how deliberately dissonant, "out there" and harsh this one was, I'm glad it was still very well received!

Done using only 2a03 and VRC7, no DPCM. I put randomized stereo panning on each channel for no reason on this upload also. Also this is the first thing I've ever completed using a tracker! I had always enjoyed tracker-made chiptune, so it made me pretty happy to be able to finally feel comfortable with this way of doing things and these sorts of limits!
