MEIRA named herself after the family name of her Portuguese mother. ‘She taught me what saudade is: an almost indescribable feeling of melancholy and sadness, and a desire for what is lost.'
MEIRA, born in the Netherlands, has been playing piano from the age of four. She studied keys and vocals and played different instruments in countless local bands before she started producing. She also played keys for ESF-winner Duncan Laurence for a few years. 
MEIRA writes, records and produces everything she makes. When it comes to the creative process she thrives on creating the perfect harmony between instruments and songwriting.
