Helsloot & mOat team up with Pete Josef for the third single from Body Language Vol. 27 with the soulful and uplifting “Guard Your Joy.”

Get Physical Music announces a new edition of its iconic Body Language series with Volume 27, curated by Dutch producer Helsloot. Launched in the early 2000s, Body Language began as an influential DJ mix series, showcasing underground trends and forward-thinking club sounds. Over time, it has evolved into an artist-driven concept album, with past editions curated by Dixon, DJ Hell, WhoMadeWho, Francesco Tristano, Monkey Safari, Yulia Niko, and label founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y.

Now stepping into the role of curator for Volume 27, Helsloot brings his melodic, vocal-driven sound to the forefront. Known for his global breakthrough with Tinlicker on “Because You Move Me”, Helsloot has since built a reputation through releases on Anjunadeep, Domino, This Never Happened, and Get Physical.

Following the singles “Be Strong” and “We Get High”, the journey continues with the heartfelt “Guard Your Joy”, a collaboration with mOat and featuring the sublime vocals of Pete Josef. Built on a flowing rhythm and airy groove, the track carries a warm bass melody beneath Josef’s soulful delivery. The arrangement evolves with effortless precision, creating a blend of intimacy and dancefloor energy that highlights the strengths of each collaborator.

The song itself began in a traditional way, with guitar and notepad, giving it a raw, organic foundation. Lyrically, it reflects on relationships and loss, asking what remains after everything is said and done — and what is truly worth protecting. The answer, as Josef delivers with warmth and sincerity, lies in joy and friendship. This emotional depth resonates throughout the production, making “Guard Your Joy” both a deeply personal song and a timeless dancefloor anthem.

mOat, a collective of three producer/DJs with a rich discography, bring their distinctive touch—already championed by artists such as Solomun, Keinemusik, Damian Lazarus, LP Giobbi, Patrick Topping, and Hot Since 82. With acclaimed releases on Diynamic, Aus, Love Attack, and Armada, their contribution adds depth and richness to the single. Meanwhile, Pete Josef’s celestial voice and life-affirming lyrics lift the track even higher. A celebrated singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, Josef has built a reputation through his solo work and collaborations across electronic music, bringing an unmistakable emotional weight to every project he touches.

“Guard Your Joy” offers yet another compelling glimpse into what Body Language Vol. 27 has in store, balancing classic house elements with modern textures and heartfelt songwriting. It’s a radiant and timeless piece that reaffirms the series’ enduring spirit while pushing it into new territory.

Yulia Niko Releases Body Language Vol. 26 on Get Physical.

For those who follow the ever-shifting contours of underground electronic music, few names resonate with as much assured vision as Yulia Niko. Having methodically teased the soundscape of her forthcoming compilation over the past months, she now unveils ‘Body Language Vol. 26’, a record that stands as both a statement of intent and an act of refined curation. Out now via Get Physical Music, the compilation maps an evolving terrain where emotion, texture and rhythm converge with an elegant restraint rarely achieved in club music today. 

Launched in 2005 by Berlin-based label Get Physical Music, the Body Language series has become one of dance music's most essential and enduring mix compilation series. Each edition serves as a curated journey, blending exclusive tracks and remixes that push the boundaries of house and techno. With contributions from luminaries like Booka Shade, WhoMadeWho and andhim, the series has consistently showcased a commitment to innovation and musical depth, influencing both DJs and listeners worldwide. Now, with Vol. 26, Yulia Niko continues this tradition, offering a fresh perspective while honoring the series' rich legacy. 

The project unfolds over eleven tracks, as she unveils a deftly balanced selection that plays like a nuanced narrative. It moves from the effervescent, sun-warmed piano house of ‘So In Love With You’, through to the nocturnal depths of ‘Bad Habits’ – a reverent yet freshly dark reimagination of Jenny Burton’s ’85 anthem, co-produced with Alfonso Muchacho – before arriving at the skeletal, hypnotic minimalism of ‘Just Just’; a deft reworking of a Rework classic.

Central to the compilation’s identity is the never-before-heard ‘Takina’, a collaboration with Alexey Union and Kinky Sound that crystallizes the collection’s ethos. Here, the trio build a layered soundscape that is at once muscular and atmospheric, weaving taut grooves with shimmering melodic detail and careful injections of ethnic instrumentation that add an organic, textured edge. ‘Takina’ is a moment of clarity - a track where the dancefloor’s kinetic energy is distilled through a lens of emotional depth and technical sophistication. It is a track that doesn’t shout but commands attention, embodying the subtle power that runs throughout the compilation. 

Elsewhere, the album serves as a showcase for Yulia’s dexterity as both producer and remixer, taking on material from the likes of Helsloot, Calussa & Malone and Chelonis R. Jones, reshaping them with a meticulous ear and an intimate understanding of space and tension. Each piece is threaded together by Yulia’s unmistakable touch: a sensibility that privileges emotional resonance and groove over bombast, crafting music that feels timeless yet vividly of the moment. 

Based across Berlin and Ibiza, Yulia Niko has established herself as a vital voice in modern house and techno. Her productions and DJ sets are defined by a rare combination of technical precision, musicality and a deep respect for dancefloor functionality. She moves effortlessly between the big-room moments of festivals like Coachella and the intimate atmospherics of underground clubs, and this duality is felt deeply in Body Language Vol. 26. 

This compilation is more than a collection of tracks - it is a curated listening experience, a reflection of an artist and curator in full command of her craft. It charts a course for electronic music that privileges subtlety and emotion as much as rhythm and drive. The track, “Overbite”, is an ultra catchy slice of electronic pop with its sights aimed firmly on the dance floor.
Paris Wells was well travelled both musically and geographically before hooking up with Sound of Copenhagen. Growing up in Melbourne, she became infatuated with hip hop and jazz at a young age, which in turn kickstarted her own career and influenced her unique sound which also incorporates elements of pop, soul and electronic music.

“I'd put my new stuff at drink#2, just before you're heading out pre drinks if you will.”

The track, an irresistible slice of electro-pop that has Paris’ unique soulfulness all over it, is a homage to her friends and their ability to cheer her up:
“I realized through all our drama, there's always an end, hurt passes, time moves us, places change us and you just have to keep the boogie with you.”

The song title references a physical attribute she used to struggle with:
“I hated my mouth and was very self conscious of it, when the irony dawned on me, it's one of the most important parts of who I am. It carries my voice, my laugh, my smile and my ability to drink Champagne for breakfast. So I decided to MAKE WAY FOR THE OVERBITE”.

The track is produced by the British production team Eat More Cake and co-produced by Paris herself. It should have no problem finding its way into DJ-sets and onto dance floors throughout Europe this autumn.

Nineties techno hero Aphrohead announces his ‘Resurrection’ with an innovative new album for Crosstown Rebels. A welcome return for a stunning album courtesy of Felix Da Housecat techni moniker: Aphrohead.

A musical eccentric, prolific US DJ and producer Felix Stallings AKA Aphrohead / Felix Da Housecat has never been afraid to take risks and break new ground, consistently captivating the electronic music field for over two decades. He first burst onto the club scene in 1993 as Aphrohead with the timeless classic ‘In Thee Dark We Live’ which was licensed countless times and is benchmarked as one of the greatest techno records of all time. The first half of the album, with track ‘Resurrection’, ‘Klymaxx’ and ‘Come to Me’ is an escort to higher plains pleasing fans of Daft Punk and Giorgio Moroder Before the previously released single ‘Let’s Prance’ brings it’s futuristic tremors shifting the album into a new gear. The second part of the album brings a long-anticipated eruption, starting with the sinister sneer of ‘Elevator’ and the bohemian cries of ‘Grown Man Cry’, soon to be released on Crosstown Rebels as a single this autumn.

Aphrohead created a precedent in 90's techno on halcyon labels Bush, Global Cuts, Power Music, Thee Black Label & Radical Fear. His Felix Da Housecat alias went on to form the epicentre of the electro-clash scene and it was through this alias his friendship began with Crosstown Rebels pioneer Damian Lazarus, then at City Rockers. This Resurrection album is a welcome return to form.
