With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

Deafnoxx - Stop Waiting [Future Avenue]

As we turn over into 2016, AEON head honcho Alex Niggemann takes the reins for AEON’s second release in the New Year... and what an EP it is. As a DJ, producer and label boss, Alex’s production focuses on the more soulful and wistful side of Techno. With two solid original tracks and a very strong remix from Mathew and Nathan Jonson’s familiar project Midnight Operator, this release is another in the line of high quality techno AEON has become synonymous of.
Starting off with ‘Angular’, the A-side, a rising feeling of suspense progressively builds into a melodic trance. Layers seamlessly blend together, lead by an array of arpeggio-ed synthesisers. All of this is beautifully interlinked with stripped back, subtle drum patterns..
‘Convection’ brings a slightly more percussive based overlay of sound design. Layers of hats and drone like sounds build slowly until an uplifting breakdown, familiar in Alex’s productions, cuts through the track. On remix duties, Mathew and Nathan Jonson alias Midnight Operator brings a fresh approach to ‘Angular’. A psychedelic introduction builds up to a climax, before dropping right down into a very unique stripped back break beat.
Angular EP is another release of quality techno from AEON, a label that is hitting all the right notes with its output, and is fast becoming a fixture in many international DJs’ bags.

Lee Van Dowski makes his debut on the mighty Crosstown Rebels with three delectably dark soundscapes in the Tale Of Ordinary Madness EP.

The talented producer delivered a stunning EP for Crosstown sub-label Rebellion back in 2015 and this follow up exceeds all expectations. The title track is based on a text from Charles Bukowski’s My Madness. Opening with brooding intensity it evolves with haunting synths and subtle acid laced over a pitched down male vocal. On the flip The Great Escape and Rapidplatz follow suit advancing with dark, hypnotic layers.

“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!” 

French born, Zurich based Lee Van Dowski has toured the world many times over, as party of Luciano’s Vagabundos troupe and as an individual artist. His impressive discography covers labels including Wagon Repair, Cocoon, Suara, Soma, Rekids, BPitch Control,Ilian Tape, and Mobilee. This year shows no signs of slowing down with a release for Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD followed by this heavy-weight release for Crosstown Rebels.

The masterful Re.You remains a firm favorite within Berlin’s beloved mobilee family, and ‘Dreams’ signals his return for his first release on the label this year – an EP showcasing his signature touch across the deeper shades of both house and techno, while also suitably warming things up for his upcoming appearances at the mobilee rooftop parties in Barcelona. 

The lead record ‘Dreams’ sees Re.You flexing his techno muscles with the tougher of his two new productions. Featuring a riff that’s been carefully crafted for the peak of the summer rooftop parties, as well a spectacular breakdown that really turns the energy up for maximum effect, ‘Dreams’ also features his trademark attention to detail that gifts it with a mesmerising touch. 

Meanwhile, ‘The Feeling’ on the B-Side sees Re.You flipping things to explore the deeper, more emotive side of house, holding things down with steady groove as he builds a hypnotic atmosphere that will hold equal sway with the crowd during the deeper moments of a set. 

‘Dreams’ showcases the versatility of Re.You to full effect, featuring two sumptuously produced cuts that deliver for both the techno peaktime as well as those deeper house excursions.
