Mike Griego returns to the label with the 'Foreign Affair' EP. 

It's been a subdued 2021 for Mike, who's focused much of the year on studio work. But after a brace of releases for The Soundgarden and Replug, he's back in the swing of things and his music means everything to us.

The EP opens with title track 'Foreign Affair', a bongo-led groover with silky smooth vibes. Huge kicks fill the low end as wafer-thin pads punctuate the deepness. Picking up pace midway, sonics and percussive layers increase the tempo before the main break, leading to an aquatic calm before powering into the second half. Next up, 'Erini' lays down a more traditional bass-led vibe. Deep and drenched in reverb, guitar licks light up the soundscape playfully melting into the percussive framework. A xylophone melody completes the picture. Finally, Mike drops a dub version of 'Foreign Affair' to round out the pack toughening up the original and putting more emphasis on the growling bass that syncopates the rhythm.

Fresh from the success of SOULS Vol.1 in April, Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion gears up for the next edition of the series this October. Rebellion presents SOULS Vol.2 continues the spiritual theme, featuring appearances from label-regulars and debutantes alike in the form of Yulia Niko, Mommo G, Cristina Lazic, Paride Saraceni, Landikhan and MoM.

The VA’s first collaborative effort gets things underway, as Yulia Niko and Mommo G’s It’s All In My Mind manifests as a spacey dancefloor cut thanks to an infectious bassline and hypnotising vocals. Leap Year arrives next courtesy of Cristina Lazic, who delivers a stripped-back, minimal leaning number packed full of dubby undertones, before Paride Saraceni’s Without Your Love ups the pace with wholesome pads and punchy, groove-filled drum patterns. Power Of Life brings proceedings to a gentle close, with Landikhan and MoM’s collaboration taking the form of an emotive, slow building number that brims with ethereal lyrics. 

Russia’s Yulia Niko has become an internationally respected artist thanks to her residency at Watergate Berlin as well as several standout productions on Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical Music and her own TochnoTechno and Live Vibe imprints. Argentina’s Mommo G is a DJ, producer, writer, painter, singer and actor, based in Berlin. Italian-talent Cristina Lazic is a regular on the international DJ circuit, performing at venues such as Egg London, Opium Dublin and Armani Privé Milan. She is also a member of shesaid.so, the world’s community of women in the music industry. Fellow Italian Paride Saraceni has made a name for himself through releases on Tronic, Truesoul and Selador Recordings to name a few. Spanish mainstay Landikhan is a resident of WooMooN Ibiza, head of Thunder Nights Madrid and has appeared on labels including Natura Sonoris, Stil Vor Talent and many more besides. Esteemed Spaniard producer MoM has found a welcome home on Crosstown Rebels and UYSR in recent times, a testament to his skills as a producer. He is also one of the founders of HoMe Agency.

Paride Saraceni - Without Your Love

Argentinean Dynacom returns to ICONYC 3 years to the day for his 2nd release. His last outing back of October 2018 was received to high acclaim - with huge support from the big boy brigade at the time. With his long-awaited return to ICONYC, Dynacom delivers a slice of late summer vibes titled 'Lost Boy'. The original mix kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through melodic inspired deep beats and harmonies are in full swing. The track twists effortlessly throughout. It's all about the groove, cool vibes that are working their magic around the wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible vibe.

On remix duty we welcome the mighty Renato Cohen. The Brazilian producer, who has seen his work released on some of the world's finest labels certainly needs no introduction. Renato created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the indie stimulated vibe keeps you moving with warm pinging sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication while the groove keeps you moving. "Essential stuff!"

To close out the release we welcome Russian duo HIGHLITE, who are known for their polished, indie influenced sound. They keep the theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. This mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. Outstanding remix from HIGHLITE.

Dynacom's second coming on ICONYC really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful inspired gem guides you to a full-on melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments! 'Lost Boy' sees a worldwide release on October 8th, 2021 via every well-known digital content provider. Not to be missed.

Yoshitoshi returns for our first official Ibiza compilation since 2015, this time as the latest edition of our Deep End series. Coming in fresh for the summer season with their third outing on Hive Audio is the Swiss duo named Sous Sol with a follow up to their massive „Taonga EP“. Bringing forth two new original tracks and a remix by Romanian electronic music staple Mihai Popoviciu, their new release the „Dizzy Rhythm EP“, fully lives up the pairings high quality standards and is soon to be heard on a dancefloor near you.

Opening with the title track „Dizzy Rhythm“ Sous Sol are employing a deep, tribalistic vibe for a start,  fusing intricate, complex percussion lines with a seductive TechHouse groove and masterly crafted synth arrangements bringing forth a well balanced amount of mystique and drive ideal for intimate late settings as well as epic moments throughout large scale sunrise sessions.

On a remix tip for „Dizzy Rhythm“ is no-one less than Mihai Popoviciu. The Romanian Techno legend who's left a trail of releases on high quality labels like International Deejay Gigolo, Poker Flat Recordings, Bedrock Records and many more over the years turns towards a more dancefloor focused  approach in his rework, strips things down a little, adds quite a distinct, stoic hi-hat whilst staying true to a certain, dreamlike and well trance inducing feel for an ultimate lift-off.

Finally „Hazy Vision“ sees Sous Sol on a well funky tip, once again bringing forth masterly crafted percussion vibes alongside a classic uplifting pad motif harking back to a mid-90s House vibe accompanied by large scale build-ups and the duos trademark mysticism, all falling into place to channel dancefloor energies towards a huge, and surely inevitable, climax.
