Berlin’s first lady, Anja Schneider, remixes Marbs’ recent hit record, ‘Whitefence’ 

Everyone has their origin story, Anja’s begins with the legendary club, Tresor. After a magical first experience and an epiphany that Techno could be her life’s journey, Anja moved to Berlin and set out to make her dreams come true. Some 30 years later, she has achieved more than she could ever imagine. A DJ throughout the ‘90s, she opened her production portfolio in 2005 with a Sebo K collaboration on her new imprint, Mobilee, a label which would become seminal. After 12 years at the helm, she launched her new venture SoUs and continues to push a warm, richly musical, tech sound. 

For her remix, Anja strips the original back to basics and injects a a ton of funk. Opening with wonky fx and a tough kick, subtle disco bass and vocal ad libs keep it groovy, baby. Riding the automation, the bassline mutates and envigorates to the break where a moment of calm is broken by a dancefloor of happy clubbers dancing their troubles away. A classic sound from the queen of clubland!

'One of Desert Hearts Records’ most beloved formats is back! With Family & Friends, Vol. 6 we introduce and reintroduce some of our favourite artists and their newest music. Setting it all off are our good friends Mat.Joe and Otistic with the groove loaded “Concussion”. A dirty bassline and funky synths give us just the right vibe for the night. We are happy to see Ocean Roulette back in town with his brand new tune “Phyllis”. House inspired chords meet an incredibly catchy groove, creating a smooth and playful style.

David Paul joins the Desert Hearts family for the first time with “Pump the Funk”. The tune is a loaded ball of energy with chopped vocals, wild percussions and a funky bassline giving off some proper vibes. Taking control of the music-verse next is Revel Yelle. Also premiering on the label he serves us a juicy slice of pumping groove with a side of heavy bass and on point percussions.

Cutting through at half-time, Wet Velvet joins the fun with his more minimal “Break this Beat”. He introduces himself with a bouncy tune made up off detailed and crafty drum work. The track builds up some solid momentum in the break, introducing that heavy hitting bass when the drop kicks in. Up next is Color.Love with her track “Roller”. Crafty synths swoop the grounds and build some tension while quirky elements bounce off the catchy groove.

Nik Thrine’s “The One” is an ode to late nights and slow mornings with a shimmering synth soundscape and breaky beat. The beautiful vocal and supporting chorus build up the atmospheric journey, and we are here for it. Last but definitely not least, Sunday Noise and Ben Finx give us an energetic infusion with their track “Green Cows”. The deep groove drives forward with smooth percussive work and laid back vocals, excellently rounding up the release with a vibe.

The release gives us a phenomenal collection of tracks where all the artists showcase their characteristic style and energy. We can’t wait to get these gems out to the dance floors across the globe. Enjoy our new Family & Friends, Vol. 6.'

Crowd Controlol (pronounced Crowd Control) is the main recording and performance identity for Anthony Salce, a South Florida-based electronic music producer who's established a purpose to create something remarkably fresh in the electronic music world. Merging two decades of classical training on the violin with the tools of modern technology, his take on music stems deeply from its effects on the human mind and body. This interpretation ranges from warm connotations of dancefloor driven house music, to sonic experiments in deeper, melodic and minimal grooves.

Crowd Controlol’s first ever vinyl release “Science Ficiton” on Still Play Records reached #1 worldwide on Deejay.de in Decemeber 2018, the most popular online vinyl store for underground music. The multi-genre EP featured Minimal, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno sounds. Simultaneously, his digital productions and remixes have been continuously well received, with regular releases on global record labels like Whoyostro, Innocent Music, Baile Musik, Draft, Patent Skillz, SK Supreme Records, Ritmik Records, Beatdown Music, and Low Groove Records.

Crowd Controlol left his first mark on the city of Miami during his debut residency in 2012 at a bimonthly party known as “One Night in Miami” with afterhours sunrise sets held early Saturday mornings on The Terrace at Club Space. Known for bouncy, yet dark and provocative DJ sets, he inspired a new generation of underground music advocates to appreciate the more intricate and sophisticated elements of electronic music. His sets created a different appreciation for four-on-the-floor rhythm amongst his friends, naturally encouraging his peers to steer away from what they hear on the radio, and appreciate the innovative qualities of house and techno music.

Beginning his travels to Ibiza, Spain in the summer of 2013 and joining forces with Richie Hawtin and the ENTER. team in Public Relations, Anthony continued to develop his sound as Crowd Controlol while maintaining a forward thinking approach to artistry. Working a total of 3 seasons with ENTER on the island, his working relationship with Hawtin evolved beyond Ibiza and resulted in an invitation to be part of the CNTRL 2.0 tour in 2015, an educational initiative which sprung throughout college campuses in North America with artists like Chris Liebing, Dubfire, Matador, Victor Calderone, and more. Upon forging valuable relationships and discovering a world of new music, this experience has become an integral part of his development as an artist.

More recently, Crowd Controlol has showcased his sound in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ljubljana, London, Ibiza, Playa del Carmen, Madrid, Ibiza, and New York City with regular appearances in Miami and around Florida. He’s shared some of the largest stages in dance music over his 12 year career with many of the most important artists in electronic music like Nicole Moudaber, Umek, Matthias Tanzmann, Chus & Ceballos, Riva Starr, Nathan Barato, and Carl Cox, performing at the world renowned Space Ibiza in its final season. More committed than ever to a focused development of his sound with ambitious production sessions and intriguing live performances, he’s truly dedicated to an upbeat and hypnotizing dancefloor experience, as his music emerges on imprints around the world.
