The 3rd Movement, "A Scottish Dance," was created to honor Vinnie's Scottish mother with a festive folk song as it might have been performed by a small country band of fiddlers, drummers, and dancers.  The movement builds in intensity with a repetitive motive until it ends on an interval of a Major seventh.  Although the Major seventh is a dissonant interval, it is a satisfying end to my ears for this country dance.

The lucky ones still get to work
A break on the price, they can’t afford to lose that perk
Grocery store feels like a war zone

These little things keep us grounded
No complaints about that

A new age will come if we start with our own minds
It won’t be perfect but we’ll be doing fine
I’ll try to be more friendly and commit to being fair

Some day we’ll help by living our lives
When it’s back to being safe but we’re not quite there yet
