In a world in which there is so much music it can be difficult to know whose perspective and opinion to trust. Often those with the most public profile and reputation receive the most recognition. However, behind the scenes there is a whole array of folk who picked them and so on and so forth…

Villella has been involved in the underground music sphere for many years – as a leading curator behind Truants and as a DJ in his own right. Having been exposed to a broad array of sounds and styles across well over ten years in Dance music it is interesting to see what has stuck not only in the mind but in the record collection of a DJ who has seen a hell of a lot come and go.


 
This mix has been a little while coming – something Villella apologised for upon delivery. However, all things considered, we were glad for his respective patience as the result is well worth the wait.

This mixtape features two hours of music spanning an eclectic array of sounds. It’s a real mix from start to end – a journey through sound done proper which really feels considered and put together in a way which few DJ’s tend to these days.

Mr. Lee aka Hiroaki OBA is best known for being one half of Opal Sunn (together with Alex Kassian) that have taken the duo's live sets to festival & club stages like Sonar and Panorama Bar.

The Berlin based, self-proclaimed "just a humble Japanese guy" is one to watch out for with some solo material coming out early 2024 on RMECR (yes, that's short for RAND Muzik x Echcentric). Hiro's productions are hypnotic and the ever-expanding textures are a great example of how countless hours of jamming live with hardware evolve into an organic & unique sound.

One of the nicest persons in my orbit, needless to say I'm super, super happy to have him as a guest (and soon on vinyl!). Stellar mix too!

Yes, it's been a while, but sometimes things just take time.
I had the wonderful honour of closing the Ambiente Floor at the last Nachti 23 and had brought along my most beautiful, moving songs for 4 hours. Unfortunately, the recording device probably didn't like that and it swallowed 1.5 hours. Well, here are the first 2.5 hours. I listened to it again the other day and had tears in my eyes, I would say this mix is a little emotional bomb.  Headphones on, sound system on, enjoy and cry (with joy!).
