Aim For The Sky

With "Let the Good Times Roll," SoCal Electro/Soul/Funk duo Crush Effect have transformed Earl King's classic "Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)" by incorporating an arrangement of speaker-rattling basslines and buzzing electronic effects. Different from previous covers by Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others, the chorus is soaked in auto-tune and loops as a repetitive mantra atop a plethora of synthesizers, scattered drums, and multi-layered guitar riffs. Debuted at Coachella's Do Lab stage, "Let the Good Times Roll" is being released for free download and for purchase on iTunes, premiering via The Dankles.

For years people have asked us “WTF Is Zoogma?” and we usually answer in the form of a performance. In many ways we couldn't describe what we were as easily as we could demonstrate what we were. N​ew Era,​our forthcoming four track EP, is our most concerted effort at answering that question with a recording. Our first two endeavors in the studio (R​ecreational Vehicles​and A​nthems 4 Androids)​yielded some of our favorite compositions and allowed us to begin to hone in on who we were and what we wanted our sound to be. With N​ew Era​I believe we created something, both conceptually and aurally, that indicates the direction we're heading without forgetting where we've been. Live instrumentation. Methodical production. The genre defying and hard­hitting union of analog and digital that we deliver with every performance. That is the direction we are headed, that is the purpose of this release: to usher in the N​ew Era of ZOOGMA.
