A new week begins, bringing us only 8 days away from the release of the EP! 

Here's one of my favorite tracks from the EP, titled "The Next Level". This was one of my first tests with really blending and merging different styles and techniques; and out of that experimentation came this track. Give it a listen and as always - Keep it glitchin'.

Ambient sounds are key elements in my music  - and this song was based entirely upon that premise.  

The idea struck me after searching through 100's of different sounds collected on the internet in a user submitted file database... In those sounds and samples, I came upon a little recording snippet (which you'll hear at the beginning of the track) which was of a man talking to another man, questioning his recording device and what he was doing with it. 

I can't tell you how often I get that sort of reaction when people are hearing glitch for the first time, bewildered by the style - thusly I thought the sample was the perfect groundwork for the track.

Over the past few years, the 'Celldweller Live 2.0' tour introduced fans to complete reworkings of many Celldweller songs both old and new. In addition, top notch producers such as Drivepilot, Bare, Toksin, and FiXT's own Blue Stahli and Josh Money put their own signatures on Celldweller tunes. Last year's release The Complete Cellout Vol. 01 collected eleven of these cutting edge revisions, and now you can get your hands on the instrumental versions of those mixes. [Note: the instrumental of J. Scott G. & Joman's remix of "The Best It's Gonna Get" was not available.] Here's what Klayton had to say about the original Complete Cellout Vol. 01 release:

Most of the of the tracks on here that aren't remixes from other artists are versions of my songs I completely reworked from the ground up for the Celldweller 2010/2011 Live Show. I've put a ton of time into remixing and reproduction but I'm not the only one who put a lot of time and effort into making this disc into something you could bang your head or shake your booty to. Instinctive, Proficient, Creative… in three words, you can summarize the immense work of Los Angeles-based Producer/Actor, Cryptex. 

Born Tyler Chase in Boston, MA, raised the smoky mountains of North Carolina, crafted in the halls of London, and cultured by the streets of Los Angeles - Cryptex has had an artistic edge since his youth. Growing up in public schooling, and eventually deciding to home school and graduate early to jump-start his acting path, Tyler’s childhood was blessed with myriad musical and creative influences. The son of two radio professionals, they would listen to everything from Sting, Nora Jones, Michael Jackson, to more recent acts like Missy Elliot, even a broken Nelly CD that he and his mother found in a parking lot. 

With a passion for the acting, Tyler didn’t start out as most of his fellow producer peers. His first acting role was at the age of 11. Tyler went on to be featured in dozens of film and television appearances —  most notably a recurring role on AMC’s, “The Walking Dead” and guest star role on FOX’s, “Sleepy Hollow”. It wasn’t until 2008 when he heard edIT’s track “Crunk De Gaulle,” that Tyler first heard the ticking of BPMs inside of his head, that would eventually become Cryptex. The tune was unlike  anything he’d ever heard--  it went so deep into his bones that he spent the next few days going through every track of edIT’s, Glitch Mob, and dozens of others just to keep this feeling alive. This moment is when 
Tyler knew he was destined to make music, to create what he feels within and to bring out the world inside his soul. 

His first big break came in 2014, when MTV hired Cryptex to assist Patrick Claire and his team at Elastic.tv to create remixes for every nomination category for the 2014 MTV VMAs. 

Most recently, Cryptex released his debut album, “End Silence” capturing the ears of glitch enthusiasts the world over. With a glitchy precision, Cryptex is set to debut his sophomore EP, “ Nightwatch” releasing  this November on Friday the 13th, via his own label, Orphic Recordings.
