Cryptid Encounter's first release was a short EP containing 4 original songs and two intro/outro ambient noise tracks. The band was young and just getting used to writing together but the songs are still catchy and fun.

Cryptid Encounter was formed in the hot summer of 2013. With dreams of intricate song structures, proggy rhythms, and mysterious lyrics, three friends set out to start a band that met these criteria. However, the band has continued to evolve over the last decade, and we have found ourselves becoming influenced by many genres of music. Everything from metal to psychedelic rock, prog, jazz, stoner sludge, punk, and even industrial. We have a hard time categorizing ourselves within any one particular genre.
