Last summer, in preparation for the fall tour, I decided to re-master (and in some cases re-create) some Bassnectar classics. I went back into Timestretch & Wildstyle and gave each song special treatment to bring it into a 2014 state of existence: thicker, clearer, heavier, louder, and even more alive. We’ve taken these collections and paired them on CD with releases which had previously been confined to the digital-only realms, with bonus tracks and the new special deluxe RE-DUX! Newer bass heads will be able to enjoy some of this music for the first time, audiophiles can bask in revisiting their favorite tracks with updated masters, and collectors can fill some gaps in their CD discography with first time pressings of Take You Down and Freestyle.

"One day way back in our student housing days we were working on a remix and accidentally came up with a riff that had nothing to do with the song we were remixing. It sounded like it could be 'Electro'! We decided it needed it's own song. So we wrote 'Yellow Brick'. It probably got it's name from being a loud (brick) angry and acidic (yellow) song. This is the only instrumental on the EP, for this track I really wanted to explore melody and changes over time instead of bashing the ears with super complextro bass sounds. This song really came from my metal roots and how guitarists harmonize with two guitars. Harmonizing and seeing how two notes play with each other is one of my favorite parts of writing music so this song was really fun to write.

I finished this track while I was on tour with Krewella last year so at the time I really wanted to make a song that would be fun to play live.
