Fortuna Records reissues a double banger by Aris San, the absolute don of the 'Greek Jaffa sound'.
"Boumpam" was released in 1967 becoming an instant hit nation-wide. The track ignited the 'Greek Craze' which would dominate Israeli taverns for nearly a decade. Replacing bouzoukis with electric guitars, San gave Greek music a psychedelic edge making it popular with the in-crowd of swinging Tel Aviv. On the flipside, his 1972 tune "Dam Dam" is an equally infectious, ouzo fueled, dancefloor saga, demonstrating the absolute best of San's unique and influential style.

Taking its name after tourna/τούρνα (crane); a migratory bird that resonates with strong symbolism in many cultures and mythologies; with "A Thousand Cranes", Çiğdem too is migrating through ages and across borders to continue her journey and explore songs of Athens, the Balkans and South East Anatolia.

Valeron & Band Live at Scorpios Mykonos 22/09/18

As the sun set and the first 3 stars appeared in the sky, the dust finally settled after a rough two days. We gathered from across the Playa - the open hearts, the playa misfits, the loving trouble makers, and one by one boarded the flight, one that would take us beyond any pre-planned travel route. 
As often happens at Burning Man, you can plan an evening, build a lineup, make sure all technical equipment is in place and the playa will still provide you with an adventure of her own.    
It’s the beautiful tension between holding an intention and knowing when to let go and trust that whatever needs to happen will. 
This set was originally planned to be 1.5 hours and ended up running for over 4 hours. As magic manifested on the plane’s deck, the music continuously played and the Playa kept dancing. 
We’re happy to introduce you to Gio Israel's Friday night set featuring acclaimed cellist and musician Hadas Kleinman. Here is the first hour of their extended set that night.
