Here is the recording of my opening set for new faces at Tresor Berlin.
In this format I only played my own productions and a few remixes. Also it was a challenge to create a storyline with a fixed set of tracks. 
I started to release this sound in 2020 and it has given me a lot of joy to work on music (and also some pain now and then), meet people from the scene and travel to places to perform.

Laima Adelaide - Opening Set New Faces @Tresor Berlin, 4.9.24

On Thursday the 21st of November 2024, come celebrate the pulsating heritage of Rotterdam’s Reclaim Your City at Saüle. Part of a new event series focussed on styles skirting what is widely embraced as ’techno music’, this first airdrop of the RYC squad promises to be a satisfying moment for all lovers of bold, boundary-pushing electronics. Clad in the austere industrial atmosphere of Berghain’s experimental-oriented subdivision, Saüle, the event gathers voices from distinct geographies and segments of the electronic music scene. From British master and seminal ‘Lost’ nights founder Steve Bicknell, who will blow the winds of dubstep across Saüle’s monster sound system, to Detroit-based deck whiz Erika who will get the heart of the Motown throbbing at the pace of its legendary electro scene, to London jockey and producer Cressida, representing the more alternative confines of the techno-adjacent sonics, from proper UK sound - understand jungle and grime, to techno itself, beware the torrential cascade of roaring machines and sine waves-spoken thunder firing on all cylinders.

Nesa Azadikhah is a DJ, producer, and a leading figure in electronic music, known for her role as founder of Deep House Tehran, which highlights Iran’s vibrant underground culture. Her musical journey began at six with traditional Iranian instruments, evolving into a career that spans techno, house, ambient, and experimental sounds.

Her latest release on Paryìa showcases deep, immersive techno, marked by hypnotic grooves, acid-infused textures, and dynamic rhythms. Rich basslines and intricate patterns define her signature style, blending raw intensity with ethereal elements. Polygonia’s remix adds layered depth, resulting in a captivating collection ideal for late-night sets and immersive dance floors.

So proud to share my EP 'Upside Down', released on the legendary Japanese label mulemusiq with you. 🐝

Before we head into faster territories with my releases, I decided to produce something playful, slow and enriched with my acoustic instruments such as my main one, the violin and also one which I've auto didactically taught myself - the flute. I used the traditional Chinese Xiao flute as well as the classic flute. 
It felt so satisfying to weave these beautiful sounds into the arrangements, to let the acoustic world blend into the electronic realm - it works so well 😍

It's been fun to explore the housy territory for mulemusiq in this release. I've always wanted to do that and it ended up to be my very own version of house, as it's located somewhere in between different genres but still offers some characteristics of house in the tracks besides 'Beyond Light and Shade', which is more breakbeaty and might go more into the direction of general Electronica I guess.

The whole cosmos of the EP is a surreal one, inspired by things like Adventure Time, Ghibli and Nintendo games like Zelda BOTW or Animal Crossing. 
I love weird things, which seem to be random at first but still harmonic in a way. The vocal of Upside Down was a freestyle which I recorded in one go - I love writing lyrics and telling stories which make no sense but create a new surreal world, loaded with cuteness, pictures full of fantasy and of course my beloved nature inspired motifs such as leafs growing out of my ears ;)

Our yearly Midwinter mix returns for its 12th edition and as always, is mixed by Hypnus Records founder Ntogn.

2024 has seen Ntogn playing all around the world at institutions such Vurt, Tresor, La Vallée Électrique and Modem Festival, plus releasing a very fresh EP ‘Alive’ released on his own Tome records. 

This year’s Midwinter mix features cinematic samples interspersed with his renowned hypnotic sound providing the ideal soundtrack to this weekend’s winter solstice.
