"Hélices" Brazilian producer Superficie ’s EP is all about Club, Baile Funk and Ambient moods. Inspired by socio-economic conflicts from his country of origin, as well as in the advances of biotechnology of our era, robotic insects and expressive percussion surround us throughout a chase in south of the Amazon. It comes with four original tracks and two intriguing remixes by Armenian-American foozool and Venezuelan-American umurmurum.

Vinyl only. Lisbon-based record shop Carpet & Snares' second release comes from owner Jorge Caiado. Optimistic strings and sweetly melancholic keys bring a touch of wistfulness to both 'AP135' and 'Choices': the former matches skippy Detroit hats with deep Berlin bass in the manner of Derek Carr, while the latter draws from a rawer palette more reminiscent of 3 Chairs. On the flip, 'Tarradas' takes us into spacier territory, the almost-broken beat contrasted with a sustained background wash of synths and acid highlights, which S. Moreira of the Slow Life crew turns into the main motif of his driving, funked-up remix, finding a place where techno, breaks and house influences coalesce into a new, exciting whole.

Following on from the crazy hookup with her disruptive half sister Andrea for Daphne001, the second salvo on the Daphne label sees Millie flying solo for two tracks of deep and barely managable bass flamboyance to mess with yo minds. As opposed to the more temperamental ruffage of Daphne001, this second salvo opens with a more woozy agenda in mind on "Sample Clearance", substituting menace with space for a squashed variation that keeps things deep and heavy. "Path To Hell" on the flipside revolves around percussive fragments with a hauntological agenda - ghostly, almost-there loops oozing out the auditory remnants of the entire ardkore continuum dissolving into a smoky, narcotic haze.
