Trevor was born on December 6, 1976 in Bridgeport, CT to June Pope and the Late Marshall Pettway as an only child. Being raised by his mother only, Trevor still maintained a close relationship with his father until his untimely death in 1998. From the time Trevor was born up until his teenage years, he was brought up in the way that he should go (Proverbs 22:6). Although he never forgot the things he was taught as a child, he began to become very headstrong and rebellious around the age of twelve. Trevor not realizing at the time that, that same rebellion would put him through a time of suffering in his years to come.

In 1994, Trevor graduated from high school, however, he became more involved in the "streets". Already a gang member, he began to see the potential gain there was in being a full time hustler as opposed to just being a gang member. In that same year, Trevor was given a proposition from a friend that at the time would cause a dramatic change in his life. From that time forward Trevor was in and out of the prison system for the same situations that caused many of his friends to never see the outside of the prison walls again.

Trevor's life soon took another dramatic change beginning in 1999. After being introduced to P.C.P., (Dust, Illy, Wet, Liquid etc) he slowly began to experience mental distress due to his daily use of the drug. In 2001, Trevor was incarcerated in a correctionial facility in Bridgeport, CT. Due to his mental state, Trevor was shipped to a phsychiatric ward at a different facility because he was unfit to remain in general population. Being placed in a tiny room, while being tormented in his mind by the drug, Trevor began to cry out to God for deliverance. While after being there for only 7 days, he was on his way out of that facility and back into the Bridgeport correctional facility he first was shipped from, nevertheless back into general population. Trevor claims never to forget a woman working in the prison's A.P. room who said to him " I have never seen anyone who was admitted into this hospital and leave in such a short time". Trevor knew that very moment that it was nobody but God who brought him out of that small room with nothing but a bed, sink, and a toilet. From that day on, Trevor gave his life to the Lord, and his relationship with God began. After a year, one month, and 15 days Trevor was released back into the "world". Two weeks after his release, he found a church home at Faith Revival Center Church in Bridgeport Ct, where Pastor James Shannon is pastor and founder. Trevor has been there ever since the day he set foot in that church.

In 2002, God called Trevor to start a ministry that uses rap as one of its ways to reach people young and old. He has ministered, witnessed, and testified on various street corners, churches, concerts, and at other different events. Trevor has recently released his first album called The Atonement, in which he hopes (Lord Willing) is not the last. Trevor has come a very long way from the same street life that easily entangles our youth today. God has moved mightily in his life, and helped him realize without Jesus, he is nothing. Trevor now sees Only What He Does For Christ Will Last. So in all he does and accomplishes he truly thanks God for it, for God deserves all the glory.(AMEN)

The Connecticut Christian Hip Hop Movement is a new initiative created by John the Baptist to bring together Christian hip hop artists in Connecticut for the purpose of making a greater impact on the state of Connecticut and beyond for Jesus Christ.

Music is the language of the soul. The soul is always true to itself, but constantly evolving as time passes. As time passes, the language becomes more complex. An artist's journey is to constantly master this language and teach themselves to the world. This path, is the one that Montgom'ry Tea has committed to. He feels that the best, most fulfilling music is the truth. Pieces of oneself composed into masterpieces built through instruments and lyrics. While Hip-Hop is the foundation, it would be unrealistic to present such a limited scope when his life experiences consist of so much more. With that, you will hear remnants of classical training from music school, Dubstep vibes from his random travels, the pouring of one's Soul from Gospel and the ruggedness of the streets.

Montgom'ry Tea places his complete self in his music, with each work being a deeper dose into his mind and the way he thinks. There is no comparison. He strays away from trends and false stories as he would rather be himself in everything he does. Take this ride...   . . .This journey with him, and you will never view the world the same.
