For the young kids, Krachmacher (a loose translation in German is Noise Maker) used to run things in Melbourne but called it a night about 7 years ago. They are throwing a party uniting crews old and new. They have mad themed artwork and used to throw mad parties in their day. I had an absolute ball, crowd were up for it and the beers were flowing - so excuse a couple of dodgy mixes, was having too much fun to be perfect lol. Tunes are quality and the crowd were vibing.

I got to fly back to Melbourne to play with the might Current Value @ Sub Club. I though it would be great idea to play a Current Value Tribute Set after he finished. 

We had problems with the sound so its not the cleanest mix but everyone seemed to fucking love it so it's going up ;-)

ctoafn Live @ Ensnared After Current Value - CV Tribute Set 240616

I toured Apex/Rob back in 2008 a few weeks after the Spor & Ewun show. He spent about a week staying with me at my place pre-post the Melbourne show and got to know each other. He was a great blokewho was honest with his situation at the time personally and musically. We kept in touch for a few years but then faded away with busy lives. I was always a fan of his music, Hench is one of my favourite D&B songs ever, bt his other tracks had funk, emotion, attitude which I still include in sets nearly 10 years later.

Admittedly there are probably hundreds of people who were closer to Rob than I was but after learning of his passing (October 2017) and having a show on that next weekend, I wanted to do a Tribue set of sorts showcasing his music which I loved as some sort of homage to him because my time with him I knew him as just a solid bloke who wrote wicked music.

So this is it, supporting the Viper Tour for The Collective @ Downtown 14/10/2017.

There are a couple of big tunes missing like Hench and Dirge but I was warming up for the main acts so couldn't go dropping that filth before they jumped on. 

Hearing The Yearning VIP close it out had me very emotional but found it very cathartic. Hopefully this can be enjoyed by fans of his - and perhaps discovered by those who didn't up until now.

RIP mate and condolences to all his close family and friends, D&B has not had a good year with tragedies like this.................

I put out a call mid 2016 to the ADLDNB Vibe Guide FB page for everyone's favourite vibey DnB tunes so I could compile them together so everyone could her their tune in a mix. We got about 200 comments with suggestion which a year later I finally got the time to compile into a mix.

New stuff, old stuff, stacks of bootlegs, lots of liquid, deep stuff, vocal and upbeat party tunes, stripped back numbers, soulful tunes, break up tunes, make up tunes, sad tunes etc - the emphasis on tunes with feel and lots of attitude. I couldn't fit every tune as some, whilst awesome, just didn't fit in and at 2 hours and 42 tunes deep it was at capacity - I think we got through the bulk, thanks all for your patience ;-)

ctoafn's 'Going In Deep' DNB Mix - March 2013

ctoafn (Couldn't Think Of A F%#king Name) has been a DJ and promoter for the last 18 years in Melbourne moving back home to Adelaide January 2016 and back to Melbourne late 2021). He was the man behind Collateral Damage and Therapy Sessions Melbourne representing the darkside of drum n bass and has toured/supported acts including Dylan, Limewax, Current Value, Audio, Robyn Chaos, The Sect, Raiden, The Panacea, Dom & Roland, SPL and more. He also promoted and supported the "original and infamous" Spor & Ewun show @ The Palace, Evol Intent, John B, Apex (Unknown Error) and Telemetrik to name a few.

After giving up promoting in 2009 (except for the odd warehouse party) ctoafn spent a lot of time successfully getting his brand of bass music to the masses - Fast and furious mixing, dancefloor filling, bass ridden, filthy yet funky bass ;-) Whether its DnB, Dubstep, Glitch Hop, Moombahton or Breaks you are bound to hear it all.

His "PowerDub" mix released in July 2010 has received props from across the globe with thousands of downloads, CDs etc and then stepped it up and went onto 3 decks for the 2nd PowerDub Mixtape.

This led to playing for all of the large Melbourne bass music crews like Tekstep, BBA, Heavy Innit, The Operatives, PTA as well as Bass Elements & Enchanted Forest in Adelaide, Earth Frequency Festival in Brisbane, Dark Hearts in Christchurch. He's been a resident for one of the top 3 bass crews in Melbourne 'Twisted Audio' for 10 years after stepping back into his DNB roots. He then moved back to his home town of Adelaide to perform with Bass Element & The Collective which in the process across Melbourne & Adelaide been given the responsibility to warm up or close for a 'who's who' of D&B & Dubstep acts including Noisia, Calyx & Teebee, S.P.Y, Dillinja, Dub Phizix & Strategy, Rene La Vice, LTJ Bukem, Spectrasoul, DRS, Datsik, 16 Bit, SPL, Funtcase, Gemini, Audio/Pixel Fist, Phaeleh, Current Value, Dieselboy, State Of Mind, Evol Intent, Mefjus, Stickybuds, Emperor, InsideInfo, Cooh/Balkansky, Xilent, Fred V & Grafix, The Upbeats, Black Sun Empire, DC Breaks, Ivy Lab, Ekko & Sidetrack, Trei, Brookes Brothers, Annix, Jade, Teddy Killerz & Tantrum Desire.
