In Ephesians 6:10-24 Paul writes to the Ephesians that it is important for them to be aware that the battles they are fighting are spiritual and not against those who are persecuting them, and that in order to be effective in walking out their Christian walks they need to be aware of that, and how it is that an individual walks in a spiritual battle.

This covers the promise of our Salvation now, God also has promised an even future receiving the full payment of Salvation for eternity with these the New Testament is full of what we are to do now that our Salvation is both now and future.

We continue our series “Intro to the King”, which follows a previous series on the foundations of the church through Paul’s smaller epistles. Previously, this series covered an introduction to the New Testament and a broad look at the book of Matthew in our Intro to the King, and now continue to be introduced to our King Jesus and expound on Matthew 1. This week's focus is on the genealogy of Jesus Christ as presented in Matthew, emphasizing His lineage from David and Abraham. Matthew stresses the significance of the virgin birth and Jesus' role as the Messiah. We highlight Matthew's writing style, Jewish customs, and use of Aramaic words, indicating his intended audience. The genealogy's significance, including the inclusion of women like Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Bathsheba, is discussed. We look at Matthew’s importance on God’s promises and how they are fulfilled. The sermon also touches on the lives of various kings from David to the Babylonian captivity, illustrating themes of obedience, God's faithfulness, and human frailty. We must keep the context in which Genesis was written as we go throughout the book; as a reminder Genesis was written by Moses, addressing the challenges faced by the Israelites surrounded by polytheistic cultures. Our aim is to become more familiar with God as the Creator, enhancing our Bible reading experience and understanding of our relationship with God. We cover the sequential creation events described in Genesis 1, the importance of acknowledging God as the Creator, and the implications of this belief on personal faith and understanding of the world. We also tackle common questions and obstacles related to belief in God and the creation account, referencing scientific observations, logical arguments, and apologetics which do in fact support the Biblical creation, and the significance of recognizing a purposeful creation in theological and practical contexts.
