A mainstay of the Portland and Seattle scenes since the late 90's, Pacific Northwest native Trevor Vichas has entertained audiences with his mesmerising blend of house, garage, and techno meets jazz, disco, and hip hop; warm rolling basslines, hypnotic chord progressions, and soulful vocals that speak with a message of love.  It’s a sound showcased here on his Gangstercast as Trevor explains, “This mix represents me as an artist in how I move though various house sounds creating a forward moving mix that keeps you shaking that ass and guessing what I am going to play next.  The mix is on the deeper soulful of house that I play.”

“The process for choosing the tracks to make my Gangstercast took a few days.  When I selected the tracks for this mix, the thought in mind was to play timeless music.   I started with a pile of some of my new favorite tracks from the last couple of years, some classic tunes that I love to play, and some of my selected production work that I am personally in love with.   After that it took a couple of long sessions to weed out some tracks and add some others in.   I had about 80 tracks laid out to play and what got mixed in the first two hours was my final mix.”

Since completing his first tracks in 2008, Trevor’s productions have appeared in the playlists of heavy-hitters such as Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Iz & Diz, Phil Weeks, Hector Morales and DJ Heather. Labels including Robsoul, Flatpack, Phobic and countless others have all commissioned Trevor for original music and remixes.

The names above will leave you in no doubt that Trevor Vishas is a bonafide House Gangster!  He comments, “The house gangster movement to me is about being down for house 110% all day everyday. I have seen a lot of people coming in and out of house music, and then play whatever is a trending to get a gig.  It really boils down to being dedicated to house music for life, not giving up and being true to house music!  House music is very much a spiritual thing to me.  Whether I am listening, playing or working in the studio on beats, there is a feeling that emanates from me when house is involved. It has become a way of life to me and I am able to express my inner most feeling though the music I play and produce.”

Compared to Derrick Carter or early DJ Sneak , Trevor Vichas, a mainstay of the Portland and Seattle scenes since the late 90's, A Portland, Oregon native, He has entertained audiences with his mesmerizing blend of house, garage, and techno.  With his production reflecting his early influences of both the classic Chicago and Detroit house sound. It's not surprising that his love of all things funk, soul, hip-hop, and disco pulse through him; giving his unique sound the infectious ingredients that make you want to jump up and get out on the floor.

Trevor has held regular residencies in Portland and Seattle since 2005 and has traveled around the world pushing his sound to broader audiences and gaining popularity across the world, yet keeps his feet planted firmly in his own backyard by contributing to the progression of his local scene.  Trevor has contributed guest mixes for some notable podcasts and radio shows, including 5Magazine New Mix Mondays, I’m a House Gangster, Kiss FM Australia, KBOO Portland, KZME Portland, KZSU Stanford, UglyHouse, House Salad Music, Jacking Beatz Collective, , and HAWT Music’s HAWTCast.  Trevor currently maintains a residency on Chicago House FM and broadcasts both his personal sessions and live events on the Florida-based radio station.

Trevor launched into producing in 2008 and immediately received positive responses to his creations, securing his tracks in playlists of industry heavy-hitters such as Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Iz & Diz, Phil Weeks, Hector Morales, Jaymo & Andy, and DJ Heather. CtrlFreq is a female DJ based in Glasgow, Scotland, amassing a rich knowledge of genres and playing some impressive DJ sets in and around Glasgow over the years. As well as her wide ranging collection of tunes she is also a keen enthusiast for production and live jamming with her synths and drum machines. CtrlFreq truly fell in love with electronic music after picking up some vinyl at the age of 16. In the early 2000's she started her career under the Electrobix name and then progressed as a part of the Ctrl+Alt+Del crew. Her love of DJing and repetitive beats was born out of the joys of experiencing Glasgow's free party and underground dance scene in the late 90's. Today she still sticks to her underground roots and plays a diverse and jackin' style that's always aimed at pleasing the dance floor. Expect a mix of genres, including techno, tech house, breaks, deep house, electro, drum n bass, glitch hop and ghetto funk, and to be taken on a journey every time.
