First of all I like to wish you Merry Christmas. Think about positive things in life and have a great time together with your Family. That´s most important. I am really happy to give away my this years "Christmas Mix" (Number 05). This time I decided to record my DJ Mix in a Club in Germany (Augsburg) called "Kesselhaus" which I really love.  And this year I recorded a 2 hours Set and mixed it up with unreleased and also already released music of mine. I hope you have fun with that one and slide smooth into 2017.

Phil gives us an insight into his musical journey that started back in the 80’s, we discuss our childhood influences, the free party scene of the early 90’s and the development ‘authentic’ Electro.

Music wise, I will be playing some heavy-duty Techno, and as requested by many of you I have also brought back the ‘Deep Selection’ for this episode.

Right, I didn’t plan on this Episode of Lowering The Tone being the Xmas show, Im just so late with it, that is just how it’s panned out :-) 

It's not a bad one even if I say so myself. 

This time round I have a very good friend of mine Kristian Townsend (Dubspeeka, Ways & Means, Akasha FX) over for a loose conversation, we ended up having a bit of a big night before, and I was really feeling it the day after, much to Kristian's amusement, as you will hear.

The conversation touches upon everything from Kristian’s upbringing  & living out a bus, to running a high influential record label, to the current success of his Dub Techno project Dubspeeka (along with Darren Beale from Kosheen).

I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Kris, I hope that comes across in this 2hr show.

Musicwise, I pretty much kick the sh*t out of it from start to finish :-)

When I was in college, my teacher used to play us Essential Mixes in class, and on the 20th anniversary of the show,  Pete Tong was hosting James Zabiela and Sasha at the Warehouse Project in Manchester. I was the first one in the queue and the last one to leave the club! I will never forget that night. This year I had the honor of meeting Pete Tong at IMS Ibiza, and I think you can imagine how overwhelming it was to be invited to record a set for the show.  Here is my Essential Mix.
