Leo (aka Cuban Barbie), born and raised in Cuba, is a small town rap artist now based on Vancouver Island. With music always being a major part of his life, at the age of 18 he took his passion for rap and began crafting his unique sound and honouring his craft. Their music not only reflects their personal experiences and struggles, but also serves as a platform to shine light on the challenges faced, and misconceptions brought upon black LGBT+ members. Striving to be a representation for the often overlooked and bashed community by using his music to break societal barriers. Cuban Barbie's music is a dynamic fusion of passion, authenticity, and social consciousness. His upbringing around music has instilled in him a deep understanding and love for the power of self-expression. With this persona, not only does it give him power, but also the confidence and courage to speak his mind when it comes to his art. While drawing inspiration from artists such as Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat, his powerful lyrics and energetic beats showcase his love for music, a passion in him since childhood.
