Born in Taiwan and raised in Florida, clarinetist Elisha Willinger has appeared as principal clarinet with the New Haven Symphony and has performed at Carnegie Hall for the Yale in New York concert series.

He has been a participant of the Sarasota Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival and School, Norfolk Chamber Festival, Banff Centre, National Orchestral Institute, and American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. This upcoming summer he will hold a fellowship with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Winner of the 2017 Yale Chamber Music Society and 2012 Yamaha Performing Artists competitions, he has performed in the United States, Europe, and Canada. He has been finalist for orchestral positions including the Charlotte Symphony, New World Symphony, New Haven Symphony, and has been invited to perform with the Charleston Symphony in South Carolina. He also has performed chamber music alongside members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. For the 2018-19 season he was offered an associate membership with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. 

Elisha is an avid educator serving as a Yale undergraduate clarinet instructor and a Teaching Artist for Yale’s Music in the Schools Initiative program in New Haven’s public schools. He holds a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music and an Artist Diploma from the Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto where he was a recipient of full scholarships. He also earned his Bachelor of Music from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  He will pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts degree fully funded at the University of Michigan with a teaching fellowship in the fall. His major teachers include David Shifrin, Joaquin Valdepenas, and Ixi Chen.

Annika Socolofsky is a composer and avant folk vocalist. Described as “unbearably moving” (Gramophone) and “just the right balance between edgy precision and freewheeling exuberance” (The Guardian), her music erupts from the embodied power of the human voice and is communicated through mediums ranging from orchestral and operatic works to unaccompanied folk ballads. She is Assistant Professor of Composition at the University of Colorado Boulder and holds her PhD in Composition from Princeton University.
