Mixing some of the darkest ideas with the most danceable, we have another release from rising star Dark Cities. Soul-destroying synths combine with chunky drums, making this guy’s records something your subconscious won't let go for a while. If you were planning on a romantic date tonight, we advise you cancel. 

Analogue is a stomper with huge brooding bass, a bigass drums mix and beautiful vocal delays. Echoes on the flip doesn’t let you rest with a synth that sounds like you're strangling a Macaw. It's absolutely insane to us how DC gets his ideas, puts them to paper and then still just goes about his day like a normal human. If aliens were looking for a new specimen, I reckon they'll come for him first. 

Frothing on this release, and frothing on DC in general. Let’s go!

Maximillan AKA Max Kaluza has been making people dance since early 2021 but has now locked in his first solo release on Box of Cats. This release is a double hitter with two A-sides, meaning you just gotta play them both!

U Let Me Down is a full-on stinker. Big main stage vibes, energy for days and super slick production. The A-side on the other side, which is the B-side but also the other A-side, Stamina keeps your feet moving and your breathing rate suitably accelerated. Vocal chops keep the groove moving while the big brass section keeps those unwanted elephants away. You'd probably say this one’s a STOMPER.

Love seeing artists grow and levelling up per release and Max has 100% been one of those guys!

For this record I first went out to New York to record with some of the daptone records guys to get the main groove Of the tune. Then I had to travel out to Van Nyus to record a children's choir, which was the most nerve racking thing I have done in my entire life! Having a group of 7-11 year olds sing your song is quite the feeling. I then finished up the song with Mike Avery in Chicago. He was one super soulful dude and really captured the golden era funk vibes that I love so much. Overall, this is a song that is a total funk dance party. Enjoy with friends, preferably in a room full of disco balls :)
