We are pleased to welcome our great friend and colleague Focus Puller aka Mike Healey back to Cubism with an outstanding new piece of music, Nørrebro.

Focus Puller's history runs in tandem with Cubism having DJed at almost every single party for the label alongside Cubism bosses Mark Gwinnett and Saytek from fabric to saʊnd and having featured on the label since it's inception way back in 2007.

This track is a pure, raw Focus Puller vibe with perfectly crafted industrial percussion riding a rich low slung groove that captivates and delights with it's hypnotic progression. 

Mark Gwinnett aka Lunacy Sound Division steps up for his first release of the year providing a driving, relentless heads down remix that doesn't let up till the final beat but retains much of the atmosphere created by Mike's original. Superb dance floor business.

WE are pleased to present to you the next release on Cubism which is from our very own Saytek who returns to his home label for his second release on Cubism of 2023 with the 303 Day Jams EP.

303 Jams EP contains 3 tracks which were jammed and recorded live on 3rd March this year on a real Roland TB 303 alongside Saytek's live set up for Readipop, a local music charity in his home town of Reading in the UK. The live video from the event, as is typical with video recordings of Saytek jamming live, went viral and received hundreds of thousands of views on facebook alone.

We hope you enjoy Saytek's 303 Day Jams EP and we would like to take the opportunity to wish him a happy anniversary 2023 marks 20 years since Saytek first performed live.

Originally born in Mauritius, now living in Ibiza, he has 10 years experience behind him as a DJ spinning at some of the best clubs including slots and residencies at Privilege, Pacha, Bora Bora, Es Vive and many more. He is a shining example of what is expected from a DJ these days combining his talents behind the decks with a talent for crafting his own music to play in his sets illustrated perfectly by the two house grooves on this release 'Maison En Carton' and 'Sundays at Benirras'. Exactly the kind of artist we love at Cubism!

On remix duties we welcome back the excellent Deepgroove and Cubism's very own Saytek who both add their own unique deep twists to the track 'Maison En Carton'.

Tony Thomas returns to Cubism Records with believe it or not only his second original release on the label! Hard to believe it's been 5 years and 60 releases since Double-T launched the label back in 2007. It's been worth the wait however. "F**k You" is a relentless bass heavy groove which twists and turns in all the right places and is guaranteed to set the dance floor alight. The pitched down vocal sample in the track is taken from the album "Visions" by Dub Vampires feat Selene De Coudray courteousy of Molaman Records. The second track here "True" is another killer but this time with some heavy tribal percussion, something Tony does extremely well.

Remixes here come from firstly Nathan Coles & David Coker who provide a deep and funky tech house rework of F**k You using the vocals as they were intended. The second remix comes from new kid on the block Sauerbache who we discovered recently lurking in the dark and they provide a more stripped back version of True.

Cubism returns with a stunning release from a good friend of the label, Tom Finn. Tom first appeared on Cubism a few years ago with 'Just A Groove', his collaboration with one of the leading lights from the new wave of Detroit artists, Dantiez Saunderson. He followed this with an excellent remix of Lunacy Sound Division's track 'More Than Enough'. It's exciting to have him back on the label with the impeccable R U Awake?

R U Awake? weaves a delicious and intoxicating groove. With spoken vocals and a smattering of low slung, electronic deepness throughout, the track was made deep into lockdown and the creative spell that gave birth to it has already yielded future music for Cubism as Tom prepares to release a collaboration with Lunacy Sound Division later this year and some exciting things in the pipeline with Saytek.

The first remix is from Cubism's very own Mark Gwinnett under his Lunacy Sound Division alias. The vibe is stripped right back to a no nonsense hypnotic beat, driven forward with urgency by ethereal soundscapes and pads that combine with the funky rolling baseline from the original version. The vocal hook and vague recollections musing over the groove throughout seem appropriate after the last months we have all experienced. It's topped off by what we like to call an explosive porno synth which sends the track soaring into hyperspace.

On the second remix we have the awesome Bedford Falls Players with a special heavy hitter taking the vibe into darker territory. Bedford Falls Players are a collective of DJS and Producers originating from the Berkshire and West London area; founding member, Mark Cooper from Windsor has collaborated with Legends of the scene such as Terry Farley (Boy’s Own/Faith), Al MacKenzie (D:Ream/Field Of Dreams), Justin Drake (Peace Division) amongst others with many prestigious remixes from the like of Ashley Beedle, Duncan Gray, Leo Zero etc. Lately Mark has been working on new material and is thrilled to be working on this release with fellow local radio buddy, Tom Finn.
