Timing is a funny thing and Mr. Ho knows this all too well. His biggest record dropped mid-lockdown when clubland was closed to the general public, the producer thinking he had then heard the end of it. The truth was in fact far from it, the 'Eu-Li' EP (he produced with soulful Seoul producer Mogwaa) went on to be repressed another 4 times and seemed to soundtrack a vast majority of clubbers return to some sort of normality. As the world is still reeling and the pressing plants are feeling the pressure of increased demand timing is a once again a factor in the release of Mr. Ho's debut album 'Michaelsoft' and the record seems to soldier on regardless and all the better for it. A perfect and sophisticated summation of the talented producers skill at making sonically slick groove-led music, ranging wide in genres and moods. The album is a journey of sorts, kicking off with the dreamy breaks of '000Baby' and the slightly broken beats of the spine-tingling 'Ngomee' before venturing into hectic and threatening electro with 'Quit Startin' and ghetto-funk stylings of '14me'. After listening to 'Michaelsoft' the listener is reminded once again of the subject of time, specifically the time the producer has spent silently honing and calmly perfecting his craft whilst the rest of the world seems to descend into chaos.

Justin Cudmore - Reasons (Twisted Luv Mix)

Nyra's musical output connects all his formative influences. After catching the music bug as a youngster through this mum's record collection, the Sheffield-born DJ and producer went on to properly cut his teeth as a DJ and promoter in the steel city.

Having immersed himself in his hometown's rich musical legacy, he felt motivated to start his own party Downlo back in 2008 which became a pitstop for artists like Ben UFO, Steffi and Efdemin, in turn helping put the city on the underground dance music map.

He then made the move down to his current home base of London, after which he really found his stride with production, releasing music and remixes for Domino, Secretsundaze and, more recently, for Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant label.

The move was the catalyst to launch his own imprint too. Canoe gave Nyra free reign to share everything he'd been working on, from house, techno and breakbeat to synth-laced dance floor workouts, all tied together by a palpable sense of euphoria.

It's a feeling that extends to his DJ sets too, especially as a resident for London-based queer party Adonis. In fact, you can hear for yourselves on today's mix which was recorded live at one of the club nights last year. From classic to deep, vocal and hip - it's house music in its many forms and it's gonna put a smile on your face.

Intrinsic Rhythm is proud to present a new EP by John Heckle entitled "Return To Titan" and the first on the the label from a different artist other than label owner Tr One.

This will be John's first release under his own name for a number of years and also includes a remix by Michigan techno visionary John Beltran.

The EP kicks off with "A" where energetic skillful production combines with Chicago and Detroit influences to concoct a brilliant mix of styles very much focused on the floor.

Next up is 7C where melodic bass and chords merge together to offer a brilliant whimsical approach towards analogue music that only John has mastered over previous releases.

Following this is the brief and one of the most beautiful tracks on the EP entitled "DSI" where building strings engage with soft percussion and kickdrum interplay to pull the listener in to the musicality on show.

On the B side we kick off with the beatless and ambient driven "CII" where 8 minutes of melodic density and synth interplay swirl between crescendo and musical culmination.

Finally John Beltran steps up and delivers a beautifully hypnotic club ready version of "A" where the Michigan artist teases between Detroit techno elegance and organic flair to show why he is one of electronic music's all time great producers.

 - “Dreams of a Dancefloor” is the latest EP by Octo Octa (aka Maya Bouldry-Morrison) on her label T4T LUV NRG. Maya spent the last 3 years perfecting her engineering on these three sensual, beautiful and enveloping songs. For the opening track, “Late Night Love”, we hear Octo Octa capturing not just the subjective experience of dancing together, but also what happens after the party, making love and holding her partner close. It has none of the formalism of “big trance” and is instead an extended house-trance missive all her own with beautiful resonances that evoke Motherbeat and the ineffable softness of true connection. The second track “Let Yourself Go!” raises the tempo but maintains the mood of the record. The song is a classic Octo Octa ecstatic breakbeat acid jam written for building heat in the body and for speaker-dancing under a starlit sky. The E.P. closer, “Come Here, Let’s Commune”, is an invitation to explore togetherness. The essence of the track is a gorgeous piano theme, grounded in Maya’s belief that the dancefloor experience can be not only exciting and ecstatic, but also deeply moving and generative—a reminder that underground dance culture offers permission for connections unsanctioned in the dominant society.

After the success of our debut release, RT001: BODY MOVE, Myriad. returns to the imprint with a 5 track journey through House and Breakbeat, heavily influenced by Acid, Hardcore and Electro. 

Syncopated drum grooves, club friendly bass weight and a plethora of synthesised sound design underpin an EP that refuses to fit within one genre. This project remains elastic in its versatility and simply fantastic to listen to.
