A roundup of positive nostalgia from Fontaine SMC: two french artists and friends who share the same vision of electronic music. They have several project under other names, often axed on IDM/electro, but this time the joined the forces for a synthwave and punk flavor project.
I was a soldier EP is a social criticism/journey into human fears and hard relationships, synthetized into an 80s look, dusty and raw sounding.
A mix of punk dementia and the most intense dance music, the one that takes the joints and makes you move them well. A sound that seems to come from a white label from the start of 90s to mystery titillate the timpani of the contemporary listener, but it does so in a familiar way.

For this @DarkScienceElectro Rewind we check in with @The-Exaltics - Rob started his career as a resident DJ at the Club Kassablanca in Jena, where he performed with big players such as Robert Hood, Jeff Mills and Claude Young.  Robert founded the project @The-Exaltics in 2006 as well as the Electro/Techno label SolarOneMusic with his long-term friend Nico Jagiella. Since then he published countless 12"s and several LPs with labels like Clone, Crème Organization, Bunker, or his own label @Solar_One_Music and worked during that time with outstanding artists like Gerald Donald, Helena Hauff, or ERP for example. He turned his deep cinematic and most of all charismatic Electro into his own trademark. Another signature is his special dark-driven Acid Techno. During his intense live performances, Robert presents his unique version of Electro and Acid music.

Avenue313 already known as Avidya is a very promising active DJ/beat maker, he takes part of the “Ceni x Nawal” CD compilation on Nawal Records (nawalrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ceni-x-nawal), along with his latest Remix for Francois Dillinger’s “Can't Wake Up” on “DET:ROI - The Remixes” released under Roulette Recordz; and including a fab track for our VA "Modern Visions.02" in 2021.

The Exaltics are back with new transmissions from their universe in form of the second part of "Das Heise Experiment". The first part from 2013 on Abstract Acid will see his follow up end of 2017 on 2xLP inclusive a Comic book about the story of the Heise Experiment.

This amazing looking shape picture disc, developed with the dutch artist Godspill aka Mehdi Rouchiche, is "The Prequel" release and sees The Exaltics in assault mode.

Side A brings a stomper in typical exaltics style with deep strings and a pumping bassline like an alien invasion which is on course to earth. Side B begins with a cryptic alien speech signal transmitted direct from the universe whilst the second track is a collaboration track with non other than Dopplereffekt´s Rudolf Klorzeiger. Both artists together create a timeless electro voyage with sharp snares and fast running basslines and combine their both styles perfectly together.

Every record comes with a download code for the release itself and 3 exclusive bonus tracks. This release is strictly limited to 500 copies.
The outer contour of the picture is also the contour of the record and makes this release to something really special and to a high collectable item.

Following on from the success of 'From The Dark Volume 1', Cultivated Electronics return with another world-class track-list of artists from across the globe.

Masked, modern-electro stalwart The Exaltics, kicks things off with 'I'm There'; a moody, shoulder-shuffling roller, while French veteran Maelstrom follows up on the A2 with a paranoid 4x4 synth jam entitled 'Red Squares'.  Flip to B1 and Label founder Sync 24 collaborates with Privacy (Lobster Theremin/Klasse Recs) for the haunting yet anthemic 'First Install'. Netherlands-native VC-118A (AKA Mohlao / Multicast Dynamics)steps up with 'Machinarium'.

The second disc sees tracks from Zeta Reticula (AKA DJ Umek), Ekman (Trilogy Tapes/Berceuse Heroique),The Operator (with a track taken from the golden days of Djax-Up-Beats) and Obergman (Abstract Forms/New Speak), all executing their freakish spin on CE-style tracks, with paranoid synths and tight, pacy beats set to rock peak-time sets for many months to come.

The sixth transmission from Squirrels On Film has arrived on vinyl record. Known for its 808s, Bass, Alligators, & Cocaine Cowboys, Florida is the home of Vanguard Sound's Chris Mitchell, who follows his contribution to Squirrels On Acid with an EP of four absolute Rippers at the intersection of classic booty bass & new-school goth electro.
	“Every Asshole” announces its presence with an up-tempo red-lined booty beat that will shake the walls of the Strip Mall Strip Club in any neighborhood. Funk is the key ingredient, and it is added generously, even when the synthesizer melodies bring in a darker texture. 
	“Grippers” is more sinister, but no less funky. Dirty South Cold Wave at full frequency, propulsive & punk rock, but this is strictly party music at its core. The drum patterns stay in perpetual motion, programed with skill & precision.
	“Sh4” is another banger. The sound of a malfunctioning Fairlight over intricate drums & angular arpeggios. Mitchell's tracks never sit still, and again here, the drum programming shines. This is someone who has put in their 10, 000 hours on the MPC, and it shows.
	“Land Of Make Believe” slows things down & turns ups the Goth. Cybertron Sci Fi Soundtrack moods, but rump shaking nonetheless, wordless alien vocal textures & synth strings weave with the drums, which here are slightly more sparse than the previous tracks, but programmed with the same attention to detail. 
	If you're familiar with Chris Mitchell, this EP will not disappoint, & if this is your introduction to his music, you'll be wanting to hear more. This sixth release from the world of Squirrels is NOT for standing around at the party looking cool. This for shaking the tail, sweating with strangers at legendary all-ages club & birthplace of Miami Bass the Pac Jam in hedonistic abandon.
