Those with their finger on the Oxxxford pulse are probably aware Jonquil, a band who like to party with mathy rhythms and a smattering of calypso vibes. Jonquil front-man Hugo is now treading a path of his own under the guise of Chad Valley. Although that name may be synonymous with Woolworths' bargain toy range, the music is anything but. Rainbow syths, blissed beats, fizzy vocals. It's a cool breeze on a summer's night. Oh and it's brought to you by the Cascine label so, y'know, pedigree.

Chad Valley - Ensoniq Funk

In the UK indie world it's hard to sport the name Coombes without any association to everyone's mutton-chop wearers of the '90s. Charly Coomes has previously been in the 22-20s and played as a live member of his brothers' Supergrass but now he is here to show that he can cut his chops (if you'll excuse the pun) on his own -- albeit with Gaz on the production desk.

When Museum of Bellas Artes released 'Who Do You Love?' way back little was know about them other than they're Swedish, they're signed to Force Majeure and they make dreamy, synth disco. The band are now ready to reveal a little more about themselves by releasing their first EP, featuring 'Watch The Glow' and three other new tracks. It's like being caught in a prism light shower.

The Go Team have re-assembled and are readying their third aural assault, Rolling Blackouts, released on 31st January on Memphis industries. T.O.R.N.A.D.O. is a taster of what to expect and has been described by the band as "our answer to 'the taking of Pelham 123' and probably our most direct song yet - an all-out 2 minute slammer."
