Sky-Fi is an Alternative Hip-Hop artist based in Eugene, OR. Combining colorful rhymes with a melody-infused cadence, the recording artist born Skyelar Stacey was introduced to an eclectic medley of musical genres in his early years. Everything from the anthemic vocals of 80's rockstars Def Leppard to the rhythmic reggae vocals of Bob Marley filled Sky's household, but it wasn't until the Hip-Hop wordplay of rappers like Tupac Shakur that he decided to begin writing song lyrics at fifteen years old.
     "Tupac would rap about he was in his room crying and didn't wanna be a burden," Sky would recall, "and especially as an angst-filled teenager, I related to that. I began to craft lyrics that would hopefully reach other people the way it did me--that they weren't alone."
     Sky-Fi would make his debut at Winston Churchill High School in 2006, performing original songs at every school dance event. He would make his EP debut with the independent release Forever Endeavor that same year.
     Local buzz would soon catch on, with Sky rapping at every spot possible in the underground Hip-Hop circuit. He would work to build an audience for himself via MySpace and mixtapes, and he hasn't let up since. 
     With a recent national tour alongside underground Hip-Hop veteran Sapient under his belt, and a brand new album recently released, it seems like there's just no stopping Sky-Fi. "This has been my outlet since I was fifteen," Sky smiles, "and I'm just getting warmed up."
