Berlin based DJ & Producer Kat Davids' selections are inspired by the depth of Detroit, Body- High Dub house and Dub techno. Whether holding an intimate atmosphere at a club or letting loose at festivals - always striving to allow people to lose oneself in a musical journey for a night.
With an intimate space that feels raw and honest, Kats’ music is characterized by her own vocals, field recordings, playful percussions and driving bass lines.
Her releases “dust” on Intercept Records and single “Haunted” on Tresor Records, will be followed by an EP in 2024 with a remixes by i.a. VRIL.
She has played at some well-known institutions such as Tresor, Watergate, Refuge Worldwide, Revier Südost, Renate Berlin, Aeden, Weltspiele Hannover, ROSA, Operator Radio Amsterdam, AND Club Johannesburg and Modular Cape Town.
Since November 2022 she also hosts her own regular show at the well-established THF Radio Berlin and founded the collective V.A. Femme.

Number 15 of our OYE Podcast Series is coming from Willem aka Rasval, who recorded a vinyl only mix under his new alias ‚Willem‘, which focuses more into House and Dub-House and will be a platform for his musical outcome in these genres. 
  
Grown up in a little town in the middle of Mecklenburg Pomerania, William has been socialized in his teen age by several surrounded electronic music events. After moving to Berlin for his audio engineering studies, he started his musical DJ and live-act project Rasval in the beginning of 2019 to focus on the deeper and classical side of Techno and House - mostly inspired by the sound of Detroit, UK and Dub. 

An international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and appearances at prestigious venues and events, including Tresor Berlin, Modular Cape Town, Video Club Bogota, Toytoy at And Club Johannesburg, Griessmuehle Berlin, Institut fuer Zukunft Leipzig as well as Good2U Festival, Feel Festival and many more. 

Nebelgelb’, the first EP of his collaborations with label partner Ones. which includes remixes by .VRIL & Sleeparchive, kickstarted their own Hardwax-distributed imprint TMN TRAX itself. During the studio work with him they most recently found the live-project Current Location with which they have their debut release on the Robert Johnson’s 25 years birthday compilation Lifesaver 5 in August 2024 among artists such as Gerd Janson, Mano Le Tough, Massimiliano Pagliara & Cinthie.

Rising from the South African underground, Thor Rixon has found his home in Berlin’s electronic music community, spreading his unique sound of forward-focused dance music across Europe, with releases on respected House & Techno labels such as Get Physical, Activia Benz, Laut & Luise, and his own labels Vibe Killer & Eko Worldwide.

When he takes the stage, expect energy. He launches a dance floor with an array of analog drum machines, synthesizers, and samplers. Fully improvised live sets that dive deep into intricate and textured soundscapes, which sit on a bed or rolling and pulsing rhythms. This live show and Rixon’s production style has made him a growing force in the global dance music landscape.

His raw and infectious energy has allowed him to perform his live show on the stages of Europe & South Africa’s most notorious festivals and clubs, leaving his mark on Fusion Festival (DE), Garbicz Festival (PL), Lighthouse Festival (HR), Habitat Festival (DE), Watergate (DE), The Great Escape Festival(UK), and Carfax (SA).

Kat's signature sound incorporates her own vocals, field recordings, intricate percussions, and driving basslines. Her 2023 releases, “Dust” on Intercept Records and “Haunted” on Tresor Records, set the stage for her upcoming LP in 2024, which features a remix by VRIL. Her performances have graced iconic venues like Tresor, Watergate, and Säule/Berghain, as well as global stages including Refuge Worldwide, Weltspiele Hannover, Operator Radio Amsterdam, AND Club Johannesburg, and Modular Cape Town. Festivals like Garbicz and Feel Festival have also been part of her repertoire. In October 2024, she embarks on a Mexico/Honduras tour, complemented by a DJ workshop. As a THF Radio Berlin host since 2022, Kat has welcomed over 30 esteemed guests, including Monty Luke and Sam Goku. She’s also the founder of the FLINTA* collective V.A. Femme*, championing inclusivity and representation in electronic music.
