789 Free EDM & Trap Drum Samples & Loops | Free Drums Mega Pack

A longtime concert classic from New Souls members Mike Ingram, Brandon T. Washington & Cii La'cole, recorded as a first dance song for a wedding. Recorded at the Little Red Recovery Room in Urbana by Larry Gates. RIP Queen Whitney.

New Souls - I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Whitney Houston Cover) (2019)

At the release show for their brand new full-length album 'Jesus Elephant', the band returned to the stage for an encore. Calling up Brandon T. Washington (whose band Temple of Low Men also played on the bill), Mike Ingram (who potentially booked the show) and Kate Hathaway (another longtime friend and local musician), they launched into a familiar fan favorite: "Sissyneck" by Beck. But the LG version of "Sissyneck" also had a habit of interpolating other tracks into its bridge, like "One of A Kind" by Atmosphere. This version also featured a blazing hot verse from a song that BT/LG had written that has never been released (the "Dennis the Menace" verse) and part of "B-Boy Document '99" by the High & Mighty + Mos Def. Fans of Mike & Brandon's more recent New Souls project might recognize that particular verse.

This is a snapshot of a band at its pinnacle playing a Cowboy Monkey that had only been open for a year and a half. Eventually LG would fade and beget Curb Service, while Cowboy Monkey would eventually decide that bands should be paying IT to play there and then become a taco restaurant. But in 2004 it was at the forefront of a very vibrant scene.

Love &amp; Special Sauce, 30 Seconds To Mars, Local H, Superdrag, Trombone Shorty, Brother Ali, The Nappy Roots, Blueprint, DJ Rare Groove, Illogic, and many others.
