Curling Show @ Bastion der Spinnerei

here's the vinyl only mix i played at SZENIT festival, sunday august 22 early noon. it was really fun listening to these records on the lambda sound system provided by @objekt-klein-a . thanks to all the people who danced - and even sat down at the end - and made this ride pretty enjoyable. thanks to @david-krumbholz for the invitation and to @jhnnxxx, @paupaupaupaupaupaupau, @tizerdd and lukas for supporting. and thank the universe for the nice weather.

Twiddle dee, tweedle doing, the darkness is growing.

When there’s too little light to see what is around you, it might be a good time to take a look inside. You don’t need no candles in here, no flash light, no mobile phone, just your intuition.
Also worldly directions don’t seem to matter anymore. 

Or do they actually and you just lost track of where you went?

If you like it or not, there might be a reason for that. If you’re reading these lines, there’s a great chance you’re already under the spell of CURL’s whirl. What appear to grow out of his head are no regular curls, as they are a mere reflection of an endless stock of vortices on the inside.

So much for intuition… Like a fly under a ceiling fan you will twirl now, relying on his intuition. But hey! He’s got hell of a good one of those. So no need to worry – CURL will keep on spinning and you may keep on gyrating. And as long as there are words revolving around winding, winds may turn and the waves will meander.

Twiddle dee, twiddle do, the light is inside of you.

With it accompanying our same-titled party series we want to offer artists that move us a platform to reach you far from the night scene - connected day and night.

Carl Mars, born as Carlito Peroni, was rinsed on a beach close to a small town in south Italy about half a century ago. Some decades he spent his days playing the guitar in front of restaurants and bars singing little romantic love songs. However, a joint disease made it increasingly difficult for him to master the instrument. That’s how Carl came to playing records. Since then he takes his guests of nocturnal dance events on pictorial trips through a life he never lived. Salute! 

Not too serious himself but just on point he’s come up with a unique collection of one of a kind classics and personal favorites. For us he’s recorded a rhythmic and discoesque set with tonic treats that take us on a ride with Italo, African, German and English tour guides. Fresh and easy out for a rave in the sun - daydreamer-style.

Salve,

I recorded this mix named "Scusi?" (because - wtf is actually going on) thursday march 19. in the evening hours trying to get comfortable with not leaving the house. I'm fine so far and I hope you're too. Besides social distancing, figuring out what's right and wrong (don't believe every meme!) and helping those in need, I hope we can all find some inner peace and focus on what we can do at home - for instance sketch, write and think about ideas we never feel to have time for. And calling friends and family <3

I want you to see thix mix as a piece you'd listen to in a public place. I didn't want to stream it but I like the idea of not "skipping through" because I think it makes more sense when heard in one go. So if you got an hour you wanna spend laying on your couch and not trying to concentrate on your quarantine plans - here you go. And since I don't want to waste your time: this is not necessarily what I'd call "lebensbejahende Musik" but in the end it helped, at least me, to be happy for the moment.

Play it loud and don't touch yourself.
