Hikø is a vinyl collector and DJ from Paris. His love for music comes from the club culture of which he was a long time avid participant. Since he moved to the other side of the turntables he strives to go back in time and broaden his horizon to assemble music sets that makes you groove or travel, or preferably both at the same time.

Now residing in Berlin, the French DJ wishes to spread her love for soul music through an eclectic selection of old classics and newer funky tracks that will make you wanna dance and smile.

Bristol to Rennes for this one by the man behind @nova-funk, Dan. Really happy to have him after releasing two mixes on his series. This mix is an beautiful overwiew of how House music has influenced Dan over the years.

"I was first introduced to house from an early age. My parents had a Nujazz compilation album which featured Jazz house and I was totally encapsulated into the rhythm and atmosphere. I remember purchasing my first house CD at the age of 13 ‘Defected Goa 09’ lured by the incredible artwork on the front, not knowing what defected even was, but once pressing the play button as I got home, I realised House was a culture which I wanted to be a part of. As a student I began to discover Disco and French House, falling in love with familiar samples reminiscent of my youth listening to my parents groovy music collection, as well as attending underground deep house nights, dancing to the hypnotic basslines and high hats. From this journey of House I now mix all the influences which has led to what I play today."

We met Gino Grasso and Luca Trevisi aka LTJ Xperience, two of the finest DJs and most avid record collectors from Italy, in Soundcloud. Back then the platform was a very fertile and active hub for music discovery and exchange for likeminded music lovers from around the globe. We instatly connected with the deep, slow but heavy on the beats and bass, discofied dope sound they were releasing, and we bought and had all their releases and edits in constant rotation in our sets. Next natural step was to invite them to deejay at some of our Playtime events in Barcelona, and then we became good friends. Music has this power. It's a universal language that creates powerful and long lasting bonds. The bio and list of achievements in Gino's extended 4+ decades career is too long to be listed here so we will keep the bio stuff short and let the music play and do the talking.
