The 32nd contribution to the Dance All Day Mix Series comes from Brooklyn based DJ & artist 'Private Service.' Prior to her New York residency, Erika V had been in Texas for the last half decade introducing her sonically charged DJ sets weaved with grooved out rhythms and creative flows. Here, Erika delivers 60 minutes of dubbed out leftfield bass, and outsider techno rollers with an industrial tinge.

Another 2 hours of Latin heat and tropical beats. Some fresh Afro-Dancehall, Amapiano and Hip Hop from Colombia, inspired by his recent trip to Bogota. Plus more electronic dance floor sounds including a new remix of Las Alegres Ambulancias on Palenque Records, an acid laced banger from Paula Tape, Dembow spiced electronica from Indus as well as new releases from Dengue Dengue Dengue, Biomigrant, Caribombo, and Chancha via Circuito's latest release alongside El Búho. And we close out with a fiery guest mini mix from incredible Colombian producer / dj Arn4l2.

As a queer Tunisian DJ, producer and community organizer, alias shay’s journey led them to the Ruhr area by chance after migrating to Germany in 2016. They are deeply embedded in the electronic music scene, viewing it as inherently political and are dedicated to creating spaces for the SWANA community. Their sets are strongly shaped by their deep connection to their culture and roots, blending genres from acid to breaks, bass to deconstructed and hip-hop, resulting in a multi-layered musical experience.

After a brief hiatus, our mix series resumes with none other than NY’s own DONIS — serving up a mix of warm and soulful house grooves just as the temperatures start to drop

DONIS is a Dominican American DJ/Producer born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. His style embodies both tradition and innovation, often rinsing NYC club classics while pushing contemporary global club sounds. In the DJ booth, he combines excellent mixing skills with an innate ability to read the crowd, both responding to their desires while setting his own sonic agenda. He explores a combination of genres ranging from Soulful House, Afro House, to Techno and Disco. DONIS has been invited to grace the decks of some prestigious underground clubs and parties, namely, Soul In The Horn, Papi Juice, Dweller Festival, Le Bain, Basement and Public Records. He has most recently self released their second EP Metamorphosis02 and currently holds residencies at renowned club Nowadays, and The Lot Radio.

This mix blends sacred Tunisian Sufi chants and thikr with ambient soundscapes, immersing the listener in a gentle spiritual invocation (or حزب اللطيف) from another dimension.

The sets of Alias Shay resist categorization, refusing to conform to any one genre.They are a dynamic fusion of sounds, weaving together the emotions of Raï, the trance of Tunisian Mezwed, the energy of breaks and bass, the joy and nostalgia of Arabic pop, and even the experimental edge of deconstructed sounds. Every performance invites the audience to experience a multi-layered sonic narrative,inspired by rhythms and stories passed down through generations, yet always forward-thinking in its approach.

Just a headsup: I got a bit too excited at times and I clipped the recording but in my defense, if Raï isn’t redlining, I don’t want it.

THF Radio hosted Queens Against Borders (QAB) on the station for the first time. In previous years QAB has established artists, platforming trans and queer refugees/immigrants that has brought a strong voice of visibility Center Stage.

For the first show, QAB invited Tunisian DJ, producer, and community organizer, @alias-shay. 

This show was broadcast as part of Refugee Week on Air 2025, an international radio programme dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of musicians, activists, and creators from refugee backgrounds around the world. Through the medium of radio and audio, our collective power has the potential to inspire hope, build bridges across borders, and shape our shared futures. @refugeeweekuk
