Kusanagi are an instrumental rock band based in Liverpool, UK. 
Combining the atmosphere and emotion of post-rock with the energy of math-rock their sound encompasses a wide range of styles and influences. 
They have released two EPs and in October 2015 released their debut album 'Yugen' to much critical and public acclaim. Kusanagi have shared the stage with a number of high profile bands including And So I Watch You From Afar, Maybeshewill, Tera Melos, Gallops, Her Name Is Calla, Errors and Cleft.


I am an amateur songwriter and musician, recording under the band name "The Swarm" since 1990. I write out of personal need and pleasure. I'm not a vocalist by any means (it should be apparent!) but I sing my songs to complete them. I've been described as REM fronted by Lou Reed, but vocally all I hear is Lou Reed's dog.
My favorite guitarist is Johnny Marr, followed by The Edge. My favorite vocalist is Jeff Buckley. I like The Smiths, Joy Division, U2, Radiohead, Metallica, Ride, Catherine Wheel, The House Of Love, The Stone Roses, The National, Kent, Durutti Column, and many more. Elememnts of any and all might seep through my songs. Or maybe not.
