Where did the time go?

199 releases and 10 years after label owner Tomcraft released the label-founding anthem Great Stuff with Eniac, Great Stuff Recordings proudly presents its 200th release. One of Resident Advisor&#8217;s Top 20 Most Charted Labels of all time, they&#8217;ve had countless underground and overground successes alike, blending the two sides of the commercial coin in a way few others have managed for such a duration.

Harking back to a funkier time in house music, its hard-grooving bassline and chunky beats provide the perfect counterweight to its euphoric melodies. Those Depeche Mode-esque, trance-tinged breakdown chords pointed a finger to the future of stadium-sized house, while gliding orchestral and sampled strings alike added yet more class. Epic &#8216;80s rock style guitars completed the package, all woven into nine minutes of electronic epicness. Remastered in all its glory here, it&#8217;s sounding fresher than ever.

Three killer remixes bring this 2002 classic up to date. D-Nox &amp; Beckers keep things simple and respectful, with delicate synth arpeggios and the original&#8217;s glorious strings paired with a warm bassline and consistent rhythmic energy. Alex Kenji &amp; NKDj up the bounce factor with offbeat stabs doing battle with those string blasts and seriously pumping beats, while all manner of huge FX and builds bring the track up to fever pitch. Prince Club round off with a more demure effort, skippy classic house beats and rugged low-slung bass building a dark atmosphere around the sampled strings. All three remixes bring something different to this classic and make this milestone package an unmissable piece of house music history.

Argentinian producers Øostil & U S H N U present a brand new EP on Hunter/Game’s Just This label. 

‘Safe’ has already been played by select DJs and tastemakers around the world. The track breaks the dancefloor with vanguard metallic flavor. Its characteristic and analog sound brings peculiar harmonies and atmospheric pads, shrouded in mystery. 

Label bosses Hunter/Game offer a dub meditative (dark and dreamy) version of the original, gradually building the tension that reaches its peak on the break. 

Citizen Kain takes a different approach with a mesmerizing dancefloor remake, ideal for peak time moments.

German duo Hanne & Lore already gained huge success with their debut EP Karma Supra including remix support by Tube & Berger last summer. Heading  for the next season, the guys from Herford now impress with their second strike and two new originals from the Whatif EP. The title track sounds progressive and funky at the same time, “Luna Square” accentuates a more groovy nature with interesting samples. The rhetorical question is rather superfluous on “Whatif”, but definitely when. Our quick respond: here we go now!

A name on everyone's lips, charismatic talent wAFF is back onboard Hot Creations curating the ‘Sick Pleasure EP’ with three original cuts that once again showcase his unique style and adept understanding of the dance floor.

Kicking things off with ‘Kidney Punch’, a throbbing bass is perfectly executed under blissful, angelic vocals. Party starter ‘Flipback’ is next up igniting carnival-esque energy. On the flip, the sonic ’Sick Pleasure’ carries the mind away through hypnotic melodies that ride amongst the layers of intricate percussion.

A natural born talent, wAFF started producing over ten years ago and has gone on to become one of the most sought after artists of recent times. Not only is he an integral part of the Hot Creations family and resident at Jamie’s Paradise night at DC10 in Ibiza, he’s also releasing on the likes of Moon Harbour, Drumcode and Cocoon. For the third Holding Hands release they have decided to up the pressure even more with two ridiculous dance floor slammers.

Aunt Wendy’s Wedding In Wales is the sort of track that sends dance floors completely nuts. Breakbeat grooves and behemoth bass lines rock any sound system you choose to let it loose on. The tune is inspired by the sounds of Oblong and Plank records but don’t worry, it’s not just a throwback record. As usual Holding Hands has an eye on the best of the past whilst staring straight into the future.

I C Jangles is a collaboration between Desert Sound Colony and Baby Rollen (one half of Voyeur) The only word you can really use to describe this tune is ‘stinker!!!’ Somewhere between 2step, grime and house is where it sits, and it could fit into any set of those genres without a doubt. It was written on one of the hottest days of the summer and for that reason the background is littered with the refreshing sounds of the drinks being poured in the studio. Essential play for when you need a little hydration.

Both tracks are produced and sculpted for the club. They want big sound systems and dark rooms.
