The Differences

Between July and November 1916 one of the most harrowing events in warfare history took place , the Battle of the Somme . In a largely pointless campaign , only 6 miles of French land was reclaimed , the British had 420,000 casualties , the French 194,000 and the Germans over 440,000 , a very sobering thought ! The people who gave the orders said to the men " We're right behind you " About 35 miles from the front in relative safety , not exactly right behind the men at the front risking their lives , what a waste of British , French and German souls . This is the story of a mans journey to the front , and having told that sad tale I do hope you enjoy it ! Back with a Xmas song on the 20th , and Charlie and the Fox finish the year off on the 27th , loads coming up in the New Year ! SPOTLIGHT:  Here in 2025 I have slowed with so-called "final studio versions" and am sharing demos of new songs. Check otu the "@2025v DEMOS" playlist! With "Trap Doors" Sexagenarian Vol VI now has nine of its planned 12 tracks. Check out the other five (5!) volumes of Sexagenarian as well. Then there's "Darq Bleu/Change Hue," my first collaboration with anyone other than my brother. I took about half of the Crawling Vines (Jack Holston) song "Darq Bleu" and added a chorus. Came out pretty well! 

BIO: I started writing songs in high school (1969-1973!) and I've pretty much never stopped. These are mostly solo recording projects (my brother, Fog City Fogey, contributes sometimes).  I don't do much self-promotion, not a fan of Repost Exchange etc, so all of you who find this page and like a song or two - you are truly appreciated!
