17-yo Exeter wunderkind Felix Dobson’s Infinite Machine debut is quite something. At first listen, Kalpa’s sound is a resolutely cohesive melting pot of everything that’s exciting in UK bass music today. With each and every subsequent listen, it just gets better.

On top of a foundation of uptempo, energetic UKG with Top 40 production values, Dobson overlays vocal hooks that could rival Disclosure’s best moments, playfully exuberant basslines that, at times, flirt with acid proclivities, and heavyweight house vibes. Saving the best for last, the finale erupts into a four-to-the-floor, foot-stomping drop, laden with some of the coolest synthwork you’ll hear this year. The most alluring features, however, are the the inventiveness and the ear for detail displayed in the breakneck, ever-surprising arrangement of “I’d Stay Here”. We’d all benefit from staying where Kalpa feels like staying, if his uncannily-veteran productions are anything to go by.

“Le Rêve”, faithful to its title, relaxes the tempo and keeps it dreamy. A Dynamic-esque spacing and flavor pervades throughout, with Felix riding a beach-friendly, jazz-laden, ratchety tech-house beat before rupturing into raspy synthwork at the 2:39 mark, à la Kenton Slash Demon, Headz Up, Justin Martin, and the like.   

On the virtual flipside, IM hardliner Liar has fun with his “resax” remix – sax riffs reminiscent of dirtybird’s more jocular, fun-loving moments are interspersed amongst cautiously-eurodance moments, nestled in a diva house shell and wrought upon a plummeting bassline and driving beat wrangled from choice snippets from the original. Consequently, Infinite Machine is proud to (albeit belatedly) present its flagship summer jam.

In the bustling world of instrumental grime, Mr. Mitch’s ‘Peace Dub’ phenomenon - initially a concept aimed squarely at flipping grime’s ‘war dub’ complex on it’s head - has fast become a reputable sub-genre all of it’s own. With a series of his own peace edits garnering plenty of recognition online over the course of 2014, Mitch has enlisted a trio of new-school producers to assist him in re-contextualising four unconventional classics and with it, christen a new series of peace-themed white label 12”s. 

Simply titled PEACE001, Mitch is joined by Gobstopper signees Strict Face and Loom, as well as elusive beat-making trio Silk Road Assassins on the label’s first ever physical record - a body of work that takes instrumental grime even further into unchartered territory. Kicking off with the brooding heartache of Mitch’s fuzzy, emotionally charged re-rub of Dru Hill’s ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, there’s also space for Strict Face to turn an icier, washed-out hand to the peace aesthetic on ‘Alice’ - his beautifully mellow, minimalist rework of Alice Deejay classic ‘Better Off Alone’. 

Latest signee Loom opts to take a deconstructionist route through Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ as glitchy melodies, ushered reverb and pitched-up vocal loops meet harsh, industrial sampling in unerringly dystopian collision of ideas, whilst Silk Road Assassins sign off with their take on T-Pain’s ‘Im Sprung’. Trickling, iced-out melodies and pitched-down vocals are laid over dark, menacing bass rumbles in a tribute to the sound that has already earmarked the trio as refreshingly slick sound designers.

Bristol’s Inflect label - home of Coleco - has the knack of turning out producers that make stuff that, although familiar, is completely out there and new at the same time.

Their latest signing Crypticz is no different. Fusing grime’s square wave bass sounds and new melodic tendencies – modulated to fuck - with jungles intricate, characterful drums and clanging half-step snares Crypticz has created an EP that melds everything that is and has been good about music from the last two years into one electric bowl of candy goodness.

Sure it’s simple, but that is part of its charm, make no mistake though, it hits HARD. The package also includes a remix from the in-vogue Moresounds, who has recently had a vinyl excursion with Ninja Tune, whats not to like?

The first single back since his incredible ‘Under Another Sky’ album last year, we're very pleased to welcome Cern to deliver #4 in the highly demanded ‘Dispatch Dubplate’ series. As per the previous editions, each vinyl will showcase a thicker set 180 grams in weight, hand numbered (1 – 300), hand-stamped, signed, with an added label sticker pack with all 300; never to be re-pressed. The records will be signed by both Cern and Ant TC1.

Track B1 – Cern & Mayhem – Hydraulic will not be available as a digital download, it is a dubplate exclusive track.

This time round we have only 150 to sell through our store instead of the usual 200 (currently as of 14/08/2014 we have around 1/10th of these left to sell!), so make sure you are one of the first people to receive a copy of this record by ordering yours today.

Cern & Mayhem - Hydraulic [Vinyl Exclusive] - Dispatch Dubplate 004 (CLIP) - OUT NOW

This one is a melodic future style joint with some luscious tipper style bass drops. I heard Perkulat0r drop an earlier version of this tune at Envision Festival in Costa Rica earlier this year and it blew my mind. I was like I need that tune, hes said it wasnt finished yet you wanna finish it up and I jumped on the opurtunity. It is also a Collab with the homie "Of The Trees" from Portland. I instantly thought this tune would be a perfect ending to the album, so I put it last although it prolly deserves to be higher up in the tracklisting haha
