In solidarity with the organization’s continued efforts and demands, all proceeds from “Open Letter” purchases and streams will be donated directly to MFBWSD in collaboration with BAM -- who will be matching proceeds up to $1,000. In collaboration with Real J.’s fundraising efforts, visual artist Heron Hues has created a limited edition t-shirt featuring original artwork for the song. With this work, Heron aims to preserve and glorify Black history using Black cultural artifacts to inspire his clothing collection designs. 20% of proceeds from purchases will be donated directly to M4BWSD.

This first track from The Rock Gong Project made using ancient Rock Gongs found in central Tanzania with vocals and whistles recorded from the hunter gatherer Hadzabe tribe where we discovered the Rock Gongs.

cyote lou is the musical moniker of Carter Lou McElroy :: a mixed-media artist & songwriter based in the Hudson River Valley of  New York, Mohican Territory. 

In February of 2020, she debuted her first single & video for  “ red ”  via BUST Magazine and more recently co-curated Greene County, New York’s first all LGBTQIA+ multidisciplinary art exhibition for Pride at the Athens Cultural Center in Athens, NY. 

Since her last release, McElroy has produced short and long form videos for other artists (including Lea Thomas’ 2021 release Hummingbird) in addition to moonlighting as the house band at Sarah Gray Miller’s newly opened upstate New York speakeasy, Ravish Liquors (“antiques in the front, party in the back!”).

Inspired by art that provokes optimism and the many avenues of storytelling that strengthen the concept of Community.. her most recent artwork exists in the digital space via animation, video shorts & layered photography.
