With a focus drawn squarely on artistry and creative intensity, Dez can change context and direction at will, while never losing the profound thread that guides each of his works. With past releases on several top labels that slot uniquely into various realms, his experiments cross over between IDM, techno, electro, and ambient cinematic soundscapes to combine different methods and feels into a delightfully cohesive puzzle... one that needs to be fully heard and pieced together. With this EP as our guided entry, the surface explored by Dez Williams in this upcoming series offers plenty we've not yet experienced.

UKONX RECORDINGS presents LLOYD STELLAR - The Lost Empire EP (UKX21)

For the 21st release of UKONX Recordings, we are proud to feature Lloyd Stellar. Lloyd Stellar is one of the alter ego’s of Erik Griffioen, a Dutch electronic musician and owner of LDI Records.
His electro sound is characterized by machine-like beats, melancholic pads, vocoder-driven vocals and futuristic themes that often deal with the apocalyptic consequences of man's greed, the relationship between humans and machines and wars on distant planets.

This 4 tracks EP is introduced by « The Lost Empire » that sets the tone with a very dark tune featuring some threading drone sounds.
« Unify » comes after with a strong electro beat and electronic sounds. 
« Gravity » take over with a powerful bass track targeted for the dance floor, keeping some jazzy feeling.
This journey thru the sound of Lloyd Stellar ends with « Floating » that brings some calm after the tempest.

¥ens is a promoter, DJ, and writer from South London. 

He started Subduction Zone whilst living in Bristol, and has brought the party back home to London since returning. Alongside these parties, he runs a mix series and has a residency on 1020 Radio under the same name.

On the decks, his selection explores the freakier, faster end of the electro spectrum, with the OG Detroit, 2000s UK, Dutch West Coast, and recent Icelandic sounds as some of his key influences. 

In addition to playing music, he has written articles and interviews for the likes of Ransom Note, Hyponik, and Inverted Audio.
