In June 2020 we ran a remix competition for the title track of Fokus' first lead artist release. The track was originally produced by Fokus, Ben Soundscape, RoyGreen & Protone. The stems were offered up to anyone buying the EP and with the help of Ant TC1 and Mikey at Dispatch the team set about deciding which of the many incredible entries we received would be offered the chance to have their remix released by the label. 

The quality of entries was so high that we found it hard to choose and instead had to declare 2 winners - Revan and Parasite. 

Revan, known by some as one half of Ill Truth submitted this classy flip, changing the tempo into a unique stepper packed with his trademark sound. 
Parasite, the production/DJ duo made up of Twisted & Akano, gave it a solid bass rework, with a bassline that hits hard.

Quadrant & Iris are back with the incredible 'False Spring / Muse', partnering with Collette Warren & Dummy on the latter half of the Single. You’re in for a treat!

‘False Spring’ kicks us off with reverberating guitar riffs and rapid hats. Haunting vocal chops are sprinkled above a slamming bassline that’s impossible not to move to.

This isn't Quadrant & Iris' first Innerground Rodeo, with the pair featuring on the widely acclaimed 'Hidden Lines EP' from Collette Warren in 2018. Add Seattle based producer Dummy to the mix, and you have a team that are guaranteed to create something spectacular!

Symmetry Recordings is proud to announce this debut release from new signing Boston.  At just 20 years old Boston’s talent for music is evident in this tasteful and exciting single. Hailing from Cardiff, Boston has teamed up with the equally delicious skills of female singer / songwriter Solis for their haunting but uplifting A side track “Go With Me” - A rolling but musical jungle groove, peppered with his own soulful guitar and keyboard licks, performed with Solis’s rich and subtle but moreishly catchy vocal delivery. This track gets stuck in your head, but in a really welcome fashion, like a dream from the night before.

The flip side “The Little Things” - once again highlights Boston’s musical skills bringing a combination of bluesy guitars, filmic pads and well placed vocal licks with a club friendly combo of shaker breaks and rolling reece bass to your ears. Receiving fantastic club reactions and strong Dj support this is definitely an example of how to nail a debut.

Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Introducing we release a series of free download singles which aims to spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

Since emerging into the drum and bass scene in 2017, Bristol based up-and-comer Dan Hancox aka Thread has quickly established himself a talent to watch.  Alongside being label manager of Riddim Records, which he co-founded with fellow DJ Mascot last year, Thread has quietly made a name for himself with a series of solo releases and free downloads.  Now he shows off his versatility on SNB065, with melodic soother ‘Away’ coupled with the club ready ‘When I Feel’.
