The new dirtybird compilation is loaded with 11 great tunes I have been collecting for over 6 months. Most notably, the Shiba San "OKAY" record has absolutely been destroying every dance floor known to man. We have lots of big birds like Justin Martin, Catz ‘N Dogz & Justin Jay on this, plus a ton of great newcomers and friends making appearances.

The dirtybird BBQ was founded as a small get together in Golden Gate Park thirteen years ago. We've had the same core line-ups and even the same chef, Grillson, since the beginning.  But three years ago, the free party in the park got too big and our permit was pulled.  The city of San Francisco could no longer handle the amount of people showing up to the event.  

Ever since then we have been trying to think of way to bring back the vibe of the BBQ park party. This year we finally put together a team that is able to take the BBQ party all across North America and Europe. We will be starting in Miami and ending in San Francisco so make sure to come grill and chill with us sometime this year. This compilation is a celebration of the O.G. dirtybird BBQ vibe.   I hope you enjoy the music.

Mark Jenkyns and Christopher Sylvester have joined forces as 12 Stories to release the heavy duty ‘Night Obscure EP’ on Hot Creations. The EP features two original and unique no nonsense club weapons plus an equally solid remix from Bunte Bummler.

On the A-side, the acid induced ‘Showtime’ uses a sample from a ghetto fight to aptly fit the name of the track. After spending a lot of time in the studio and using numerous bits of Roland gear, the second track ‘Night Obscure’ finally came together when Mark’s neighbour spontaneously sang a French poem for the the vocals. No stranger in the Hot Creations camp Bunte Bummler uses the vocals to full effect over deep chugging percussions, while keeping hold of the sonic energy that flows through the EP.

This release is their first original output as 12 Stories and paves the way for much more to come including releases on VIVa and Leftroom. Originally from South Shields, Mark Jenkyns has enjoyed a series of well received releases on Hot Creations, Hot Waves, Crosstown Rebels and Dogmatik. Christopher Sylvester under his Inxec alias has released on a wealth of labels including Contexterior, Last Night on Earth, Leftroom, Get Physical, Culprit and Crosstown Rebels.

Mannheim natives Bunte Bummler aka Fabian Winkels and Manuel Vobis met 12 years ago in the graffiti scene, although several years would pass before they joined together to produce and DJ. Releases have appeared on the likes of Hot Trax, Recovery Tech, Deep Tech Records, Viva Music, Leone, Defected and Cecile.

One year on since the first installment, the mighty Hot Creations turn up the heat as they get set to unleash ‘Hot Summer Jams 2’, featuring eight exclusive tracks from familiar faces and blossoming new talents. 

The first half of the v/a welcomes back some favourite artists with the first track coming from label head and main man himself Jamie Jones, hot off the heels of some far reaching releases as Hot Natured and solo anthems. He delivers the storming future anthem, ‘Danger Mouse’. Next up Suara boss Coyu delivers ‘The Cat’ featuring the stunning vocals of Cari Golden. On an old school tip, New Yorker MANIK hits us with ‘Freak Your House feat. MC Kew G’ followed by a dance ready track from Alexis Raphael, who had his first track signed to Hot Waves back in 2011.

Dynamic duo Leftwing & Kody make their first appearance on the label as they team up with Cera Alba to deliver the heavy duty ‘I Got One Way’. Newcomers David Glass & CDC, Sean Branton and Neil Parkes also make their debuts on the label with serious impact. Bubbling with groove and energy, each of the tracks hold superior dance floor magic, road tested worldwide by the Hot Creations crew this summer, they are essential ammunition.

Co-founded by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, Hot Creations has been going from strength to strength since it’s creation in 2010, releasing a comprehensive catalogue of music from well known artists and breaking new talents who have gone on to be some of the biggest names in the industry today.

2015 has seen a wealth of new productions from Jamie Jones including a collaboration with Kate Simko and the London Electronic Orchestra on his new label Emerald City, followed by another huge hit from his band Hot Natured plus the release of ‘Siberian Express’, recently named Essential New Tune.

MIGHTYFOOLS – FOR THE FAMILY EP

Internationally-acclaimed duo Mightyfools never stopped charming electronic music fanbases since they started releasing their music back in 2008. Not only their collab with Yellow Claw, the quirky 'Lick Dat' hit over 2 million views on YouTube. With the support from the label pals, Mightyfools freshly dropped debut ‘For The Family’ EP via Barong Family, which perfectly defines their creative direction abilities.

All of the four tracks sound differently, yet still complement each other with the duo’s signature sound elements. Before being released, some songs were first tested on the dancefloor (‘Blow Ya Mind’) or freshly re-mixed (‘Bounce That’), to make sure they keep the vibe hot. The EP also features sexy vocals from Dutch MC Boogshe for the party-perfect song ‘Girl On Girl’. Finally, the super danceable ‘MFA’ (‘Mightyfools Anthem’) speaks for itself – it’s an aggressive track to close sets with.

Mightyfools - MFA (Mightyfools Anthem) (OUT NOW)

Fouk, comprised of schoolmates Daniel Leseman and Hans Peeman (aka Junktion), first caught our attention in 2014 with their First Things First debut on Output. The Dutch duo then followed it up with releases on Room with a View and Detroit Swindle's Heist. They now deliver their fourth EP, Gruff, on London-based House of Disco Records, where Fouk now join a roster already boasting Francis Inferno Orchestra, Psychemagik, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Monitor 66 and more.

The title track and our favourite off the release, "Gruff" is an amalgamation of all funk music's greatness – a walking bassline underpin, groove-fuelled guitar licks, heady melodies on a wah-wah synth and dreamy vocal snippets. A healthy tribute to old-school funk in a modern-day format fit for any dancefloor.

Fouk's Gruff EP drops on vinyl on 18th January and digitally on 1st February 2016.

There's not many in today's scene whose music you can instantly recognize, but Jay Vegas has quickly become one of them, having developed his own unique twisted disco sound.

2010 saw the beginning of Jay's solo venture after moving on from previous alias Groove Invaderz. Since conception his funky style has been well received, gaining support from some of the industry's biggest names including; Erick Morillo, Mousse T, Norman Cook, Junior Vasquez, Danny Rampling and Grant Nelson.

In 2011 Jay joined San Francisco based heavyweight Jackin House label Guesthouse – settling in amongst a roster of hugely talented artists such as DJ Sneak, Gramophonedzie, Sonny Fodera, Gene Farris, DJ Dan and DJ Mes.

As well as holding down a busy DJ schedule, Jay also runs his own imprint Hot Stuff Records. It’s already become a firm favourite with DJ’s, having released a string of Traxsource #1’s with his own tracks: Say To Ya, Luv Drug & Body & Soul.
