Back in 1996, TIP RECORDS released the original version of Nick DOOF’s Goatrance classic “Mars Needs Women” on his album “Let’s Turn On.”

Fast forward to 2025, Japanese veteran producers of the Goatrance scene, Yasunori Matsuda (UNI) and Tsuyoshi Suzuki (PRANA), have teamed up to create a monster of a remix of this seminal track bringing fat, groovy production to go with the original’s classic sawing leads and striking melodies.

On our way to the next edition of OZORA, Indian producer StarLab is joining us to talk about some of the key milestones in his musical journey so far, the scene in India and all that is cooking in his audio laboratory. Topped with a special mix of course.

StarLab is a project initialised by Bharat from New Delhi, India.Training in Indian Classical Music laid the musical foundations for Bharatat a very early age, earning a Music Diploma at the age of 10. Over theyears, as a self taught Bass & Guitar player he gathered a wealth ofexperience touring andrecording with his band for over a decade until heencountered the hypnotic sound of Psychedelic Trance Music at a beachparty in Goa, India. This strongly affected his musical persona after whichhe began to teach himself synthesis & music production andprojectStarLab was born.In 2011 he went toSan FranciscoUSA to study music and quickly became apopular DJ in the West Coast scene, gaining a lot of experienceplayingmany local parties &festivalsand learningmusicproduction. CYLON is the Psychedelic Trance project of Takeo Namiki based on Japan.
His experience as a main guitar player from Heavy Metal/Hard Core/Funk/Loud Rock give him insights on his productions.
One day, he realized “I need to seek a musical platform which is a common style for all the humanity on our mother earth”. And then, he finally met and fell in love with this kind of dance music called psychedelic trance! It also seemed like there needed to be some more groovy sounds like funk music put into this kind of psychedelic music. So, he made a decision that “I’ll be with this scene till I die”.
The humanoid CYLON was born in 2011 for spreading out his DNA around the world.
He produces cutting-edge Progressive Dance tracks which combines the sound from Analog to Digital and Real Band music to the electronical cyber sound which will take you to the next level of the journey.
He has played on the main stage of mammoth festivals like Boom, Origin, Rezonance & Ozora, and always wants the audience to understand who they are, realize the energy they are emitting, and to find the balance to live harmoniously with other beautiful souls around them. 
Meanwhile, Californian eyewear brand “Black Flys” has been supporting CYLON as a part of the Fly Family since 2019. 
“Psychedelic, Dance, Groovy, Fractal and Life”. These five words describe the CYLON sound.
