Following on from the success of her 'It's like This, It's Like That' single, Henri returns with an emotive remix of 'Two Bodies (Feat. Emma Louise)' by the Australian duo, Flight Facilities.

The original, which features breathy vocals from Emma Louise, is the dance/pop production we have come to associate with Flight Facilities. Henri has pushed the boundaries of the track one step further; chopping up and looping snippets of Louise's vocals, while adding lush strings and a gorgeous piano interlude to the mix. 
 
Henri's remix will be sure to reignite your nostalgia for 90's-inspired piano house beats. Perfect in both live and intimate settings, you will be sure to have a sweet euphoric moment and take yourself back to Bora Bora beach in Ibiza. 
 
The remix is being released in anticipation of Henri's second single, Only Love Will Take Me There, a brooding underground house track, coming out on Monstertooth Records in November. You don't always get to choose what happens to you in life, but you can choose how you respond to it. The old me had died, and the new me was not off to a very good start. I fell into depression. I started drinking a lot. I blamed my behavior on a lot of things that weren’t the problem. People close to me suggested I see a therapist when I first learned I'm adopted. I did, twice, then quit. I resisted. I didn't think I was "crazy". That was dumb. Finally, after a couple intense outbursts and distancing some close friends, with a lot of help and encouragement from my wife, I began to read about the psychological aspects of adoption and anxiety. I started seeing a therapist and was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. 

Wait. This wasn’t how the story of finding my birth family was supposed to go. I was supposed to be happy, right? Why should I be depressed? I had a great family, a successful business, and I get to DJ for a living. WTF. None of it made sense. I never thought I'd be diagnosed with mental illness. No one does. I faced an uphill journey at this point. To be clear, the anxiety was always there, undiagnosed. I’ve suffered from it my whole life without being able to define it. Learning I was adopted didn’t cause it. It may have exacerbated it, but it certainly brought it into focus.

It's incredibly difficult to talk about mental illness publicly. Even today, people will ask "But you're better now, right?" The stigma is deep and pervasive, which is part of the reason I'm sharing these posts and contextualizing these songs publicly. 42,000 people commit suicide each year in America and countless others succumb to addiction and overdose, and the numbers are only going up. In April, an analysis of Federal Government data revealed U.S. suicide rates have surged to a 30-year high. These aren't just statistics, they're family and friends. We can see the empty spaces in our community.

People suffering with mental illness didn't do anything wrong to bring this condition upon themselves. It's not a virus that's going to make you sick. The silence and shame can be one of the hardest parts. I had no clue, until it happened to me. If you’re suffering, don't let the demons win. Don't let the stigma win. Talk about it and if you hear it, listen. In 2014 and 2015, I was in a psychological free fall. Things gradually started getting better, and ultimately my therapist may have saved my life.

I know what some of you may be thinking. Just focus on the positive things in your life! Just snap out of it. Toughen up. If you have undiagnosed mental illness, it can be impossible to imagine dawn when you're in free fall. By outward appearances, it can seam ungrounded, but anxiety is your mind on fire. You hold on to something, like in my case music. It brings you to sun drenched beaches and perfect nights under blankets of stars, but it’s fleeting. Your family and friends try to reach out to you in the dark and you blindly grasp, hoping to connect to them while the void closes in.
